some august stuff!

+ he has a pretty rough relationship with his parents. it probably doesn’t seem that way from another perspective, but they’re very emotionally distant & have extremely high standards set for their children. and when those standards aren’t met, it’s usually met with pretty harsh consequences + kind of shutting their children out until they feel the mistake has been rectified. they’re very... clinical and detached from their children and view them more as like... an obligation for the most part. yeah, they’ll take care of them and hold conversations with them and even show the occasional interest, but no they can’t really be seen as affectionate in the slightest.

+ his parents are also! deeply involved in the cult. this isn’t something that august finds out about until after joining the blackout club and he’s still torn about it / his parents in general, but they are quite fucked up and they sure will use their own children to achieve their goals.

+ august himself is very... soft-spoken. he’s nervous and has a hard time forming meaningful connections with people. he keeps to himself and has a hard time stepping outside of his comfort zones, but he’s also a very loyal friend. he doesn’t get scared easily and he would step up to the plate at any given time. not very physically strong, but has a lot of heart!

+ he’s also nosy as fuck. he and his sibling (jules!) have probably kind of made a habit of putting their noses where they shouldn’t. they dig up every dumb mystery around the block, so it’s really no surprise that either of them have gotten involved in the blackout club & are very eager to learn more about the cult and the mysteries surrounding it.

+ at school, he works on the newspaper! he’s talented, but yet again, has a habit of getting himself into sticky situations. he’s willing to take risks for the sake of journalism and also (mostly) to satisfy his curiosity. he loves a good mystery!! he loves knowledge!!!

+ he’s... really interested in the daemons and has made a habit of trying to speak with some of the less malicious ones (thee-i-dare, etc). he’s probably most interested in thee-i-dare since they converse in such an unconventional way & seem to be the most helpful. he knows that he’s probably getting in over his head, but he’s also... a lil susceptible to stuff like this. he can’t help himself! but he is not a stalker and would never wanna intentionally hurt others.

+ he’s the type of person that’s really eager to please! he has a hard time saying no to other people and he can come off as a bit of a doormat. it’s part of the reason why he’s so torn on how to feel about his parents. logically, he knows that his parents aren’t good people & that they haven’t treated him or jules with much care. but august is a really emotional person and so he has a hard time separating himself from that. he’s just... really eager to please his parents and gain some form of love & validation from them. even if he knows that will most likely never come to fruition. 

+ august is also very secretive. is he interested in everyone else’s business? yes! but will he ever be disclosing any of his own? no! he’s a private person and is pretty... reclusive / closed off. he’s very sweet and empathetic, so i wouldn’t really consider him cold, but he haaaates discussing personal info with others. you gotta unlock his level 10 social link before you find out literally anything about his past. good luck!
