The tension, the twists, the emotions...

EVERYTHING about this story completely pulled me in from the very beginning. I was so attached to the characters, especially Rook and Dorothy, and every chapter kept making me question what was going to happen next.

Without spoiling anything, let's just say this book absolutely destroyed me in the best possible way. There were multiple moments where I had to stop reading just to process what I had learned because the reveals were THAT shocking.

I loved the darker twist on the world, the chemistry between the characters, and the way the story constantly kept me on edge. The ending left me speechless and now I desperately need the next book because I have way too many questions.

TIL via hollywood, ending copyediting that "E. E. Cummings" can be safely capitalized, as it was a publisher who rendered his name lowercase, not E. E. himself.

Tyler… I swear I have NEVER been so back and forth on a character. One second I wanted to slap him, the next I was absolutely obsessed with him. He’s messy, frustrating, intense—and somehow that made me love him even more.

And Stella 🥺 her backstory added so much depth. You can feel how badly she doesn’t want to be with Tyler, but at the same time… she needs him. That push and pull between them??? SO well written.

The storyline was honestly perfect. The tension, the emotion, the pacing—everything had me hooked from start to finish. I could not put this book down.

Caught Up: A Love That Had Me in a Chokehold

Caught Up by Navessa Allen was everything I wanted and more — dark, sexy, emotional, messy in all the best ways, and completely addictive. This book hit every mood: heart-pounding, steamy, tender, chaotic, and deeply emotional.  

Junior (aka Nico) and Lauren’s story is not your typical romance. He’s a mafia heir who’s been obsessed with her for years — secretly watching, protecting, and craving a second chance. Lauren is confident, unapologetically herself, thriving in her work and her community, and not someone who’s easily impressed. Watching these two collide again? UGH. It’s wild, intense, and honestly kind of perfect.  

What I loved most was how real it felt. Lauren isn’t a damsel; she owns her sexuality, her choices, and her world. Junior has trauma and baggage for days, but he actually tries to grow instead of just pushing everyone away. Their journey together feels messy, heated, and so worth the ride.  

The chemistry?? Out of control. The stakes?? So high. The emotional payoff?? Chef’s kiss. It’s spicy, yes — plenty of steam — but it still has heart and real character arcs that made me care so freaking much.  

If you love dark romance with second-chance vibes, morally gray heroes, powerful heroines, and a story that keeps you turning pages long after bedtime — Caught Up is a must read. This one’s gonna stick with me for a long time. ❤️🔥
