"Oh, well it’s nice to meet you." The young artist gave out a soft chuckle. It was a rather macabre statement to hear from a child, but she decided to excuse the abnormality of it all in favor of a more humorous approach.
"No, but I kind of wish they could. I didn’t even know they sold them to do that. They seem useful to have, provided I wouldn’t rip my ears off trying to get to them. Knowing my luck, I would probably end up hurting myself before anyone else could."
Gaz gave a shrug as she spoke. She hadn't figured out whether it was nice to meet this girl or not, so she refused to return the sentiment for the time being. "I guess. If you run into enough trouble, you'd probably get pretty good and not doing that. Especially if they were small daggers concealed neatly into a cross like those." She pointed to Devi's earrings. "The world would be at your earrings' mercy."

"Oh, I did? Well, that’s good then. I wouldn’t have wanted to come off as one of them- no, I try to distance myself from them as much as possible."
"Nny’s not the most amazing name but I like it and it’s to the point so it doesn’t really matter. Well, not like I get many people to introduce myself to anyways."
"Good. So do I."
"No name is amazing. It's just used to call someoen by something. I generally call my brother by a series of threats. It works just the same as a name would, really." She shrugged. "I'm guessing you don't get out much."

"Yeah, not gonna lie, not exactly thrilled about being up to my neck in angsty teens either."
"Then don't be."

For a gamer, the destruction of a console for a new one was the ultimate sign of needing to upgrade. Some kids could get away with merely asking for the new one, so they could still play their old games, but others needed to create a sense of urgency. Willie understood. He’d pulled that same card before when he was younger.
All it ever got him was a broken nose and another reason to wear long sleeves in summer. “I don’t blame you. Immersion VR’s some pretty crazy stuff.” One of his classmates even ran away from home to drown himself in the stuff. Useless little dreg.
"Hm? This? No, it’s not a genetic enhancement. I stole a piece of construction equipment where my dad works so I could use it to trash a bully’s car a couple of years ago. The thing short-circuited while I had the control halo on and it left me with a little memento."
What a shame the GoLeM was gone.
What a shame indeed.
"What kind of games do they have anyway? Shooting, combat, quest? I like the ones where I can kill things at close range. Is there any of those?" Gaz asked-- and despite her morbid questioning, she somehow managed to sound strangely calm. Of course, she never really was all that normal for an eleven year old. Anyone could tell that at first glance. "Trash a bully's car?" Finally, some emotion again. She actually sounded intrigued. "I guess you're not as much of a dork as you look. That's pretty cool. If only I could get super powers from trying to destroy the things of my enemies..."
Her mind trailed off into the depths of darkness and gore that it frequently was. Dreaming up all types of schemes she could cook up with something like electrokinesis. "So what, can you do anything other than charge a battery?"

Daken chuckles, “You tried, but I’ll take that last bit as a compliment. I happen to like very much how I look, and it isn’t to be associated with the kinds of shit that would feel emasculated by a little girl calling them lame. However, you’ve proven you’re not really like other eleven years olds, you’re not nearly as annoying. I’ll tell you that I’m an assassin, and whether you want to take me seriously or not is your prerogative.”
"I guess I underestimated you then." Gaz said, though without a hint of guilt or surprise. Her voice remained eerily apathetic. "Assassin? Yeah, that's cool. I really see no reason why I shouldn't take you seriously considering my own father bioligically engineered both me and my brother in his lab, my brother is obsessed with aliens and the supernatural to the point where he's borderline psychotic-- plus his head is bigger than the moon, we have a moronic alien in our own city trying to take over Earth and failing horribly, and I've met an Evil Piggy Warlord who danced ballet. Not to mention, I've already met a mercenary. So, yeah, I'll take you seriously."

"Mature women happen to find them cute and even sexy. You wouldn’t know anything about it, pip-squeak."
"I hardly think a person who thinks something with likeness to Santa's little slaves looks is 'cute' or 'sexy' are mature at all."

"I do not need to explain my preferences in fabric to a young girl."
"Sometimes I wear white, if that eases your mind."
"And yet you still are."
"No. I hardly care. I was just making a statement."

"Shouldn’ you be in school?”
"Shouldn't you be in a nursing home?"
"No. It's summer. School doesn't start until September."
Do you fear the Slenderman?
"No."

"Whoever said it took effort?
Eh, what the hell d’you know, anyway? ‘ow old are you? “
"Is that everyone's favourite question today? My age doesn't change the fact that I know how things work."
"I'm eleven if you really must know."

"I already am known. Nothin’ wrong with liking attention.”
"Except for the fact that people stink and no one expects the unknown. Being known is a waste of effort."
vengeanceandpizza started following you
"Why would you want a cheat code for a game? Not good enough to beat it yerself?"
"He was the one who wanted it. He asked me for it. Obviously I'm good enough to beat the game without a stupid cheat."
"Either way, the only thing he's good for is cursing you with the ability to taste nothing but pork. It's a waste of anyone's time."
mongrelasshole has interrupted your game
"If you think I care about an eleven year old’s opinion about me, then you must think I have terrible self esteem. I feel no need to prove that I’m not lame to you, because I’m already confident that I’m not. Good try though, really.” He looks mostly calm, but there’s clear signs he’s losing patience.
She blinked, face still emotionless as it had been from the start. "It was worth a shot." Gaz shrugged. "Most men with mohawks and tribal tattoos tend to have a problem with being belittled or emasculated. Usually provoking from a little girl gets me the information I need. You're different."

"Green is the prominent color of my country’s flag, why should I not wear green?"
"Green is the colour of envy. Sometimes affiliated with greed. Most people wear green as a symbolism to luck or harmony."
"It doesn't really match the rest of your look."
digital-darwinism has interrupted your game
"It gets even weirder where I live. It’s full immersion VR. This neighbor of mine makes games so intensive that you forget you’re playing." It started to feel real after a while, and it really freaked people out. “You’d think someone would put more save points, but nope.” Those went the way of the Oculus system.
"I still have my old handholds at home, so I feel your pain." An electrical current passed through his fingertip and into the Game Slave…or was that a GS2? "Which game is that, anyway?"
"Really?" Gaz's eyes widened at the thought. "A game where you're so immerged into the gameplay you're actually part of it. Where you can feel the life slip away from mutant rodents and three eyed aliens as you stab them in the heart with a laserblade." She stared up at him, drawing away from her wonderment for a moment. "I want to play one."
"Game Slave 2. I killed my other one in order to upgrade. It was the only way." She watched as the electrical current passed. "So what, is that some sort of genetic enhancement or something? Electrokinesis isn't usually something people have naturally."
immortalizingthemoment has interrupted your game
"That’s, um, understandable," he said with one brow quirked. That was not the sort of thing he expected to hear from a child but it was refreshing. Surprising, but refreshing.
"Gaz? Short and simple- I like it. Well, then, Gaz, seeing as we seem to have some agreement here - a lot of agreement - you may call me Nny, and yes, that is short for something. But I don’t really go by my full name so don’t worry yourself over that..”
"You seemed like the kind of guy that would understand." Of course, anyone of an alternative clothing style and lanky body type generally felt the pressures of society's imbecilic nature. It was a good assumption for the most part for Gaz. "Yeah, I like it too. Nny's pretty okay too, I guess." She gave a shrug. "I don't go by my full name either. It's a waste of time."
