Out of Town Again!

Same as in June, I’m out of town again and won’t be checking socials or replying to stuff from this afternoon until roughly the 22nd. I’m sad I can’t be online to celebrate Octopath’s 8th anniversary, but I’m excited to see everything when I come back!

WWXS: What Would Xerc Say?

A month or so ago, I started a little project cataloguing the English battle quotes of OT0 travelers, ostensibly for Tomodachi Life shenanigans but also just to have them. And of course Xerc has the best voice lines! So I took inspiration from those t-shirts that show a character's expressions for various emotions and did that for Xerc quotes! It was a lot of fun, even though I couldn't fit in all my favorites (I'm quite partial to "I call upon the frozen tempest!").

Scholar Tower Floor 5 EX 2 Cleared!

I finally got around to trying Scholar Tower floor 5 EX 2 again this morning, and I won! Viola EX impressed me! She was the primary DPS and did more damage than I expected. Rondo EX was great too, but he needs more investment to maximize his damage. Plus I keep mixing up Icy Waves and Storm Surge and Raging Waves which doesn't help 😂. He has potential though! Xerc did his second Hyper Catalysis ever and got a Huge Success this time! I clearly need to do it more since his ult then did more damage than I've ever seen.

I have the video too, but it's not that interesting ngl. Pretty sloppy and lots of pauses considering my only plan going in was ice DPS and Glacial Inlet for setting up HP barriers because I thought that granted Icy Waves not Raging Waves. It worked out well however! This seems like a fun fight to optimize if I can count the shield shave properly.

Sibling Shenanigans: Bella & Sazantos in Tomodachi Life!

I finally finished my Bella & Sazantos comic! Thank you so much to @toxiccoswynaut for the wonderful request! What began as Bella bothering Sazantos became a little story about the sibling bond that grows between Sazantos and the chosen one with plenty of sibling pestering to go along with it. I also got to show more of Bella's personality here. Although it ostensibly takes place in my Tomodachi Life AU, I think the general aspects of the two's interactions still apply to their OT0 counterparts. This is my longest comic by far, and I'm really happy with how it came out!

Nice!!! Maybe one day I'll get people besides Phenn to consistently hit cap like you do with Ditraina EX and Hujheb. I really need to stop dragging my feet on testing Molrusso EX but I'm antsy about replacing Lynette and Art Fight is so soon anyway so maybe I need a break from Phenn testing.

Heeheehee! I love it 😆😋😊😋😆! It's so accurate too (the way Bella's cradling Phenn :)))) that's exactly how I feel about him). I'm supposed to be working on rainbow comp but my sword comp blorbos are really going places!!! Besides, Setzer and Alaune EX 2 will come soon enough so I can delay the rainbow a little longer until I have them. It can be like the Screw Sonzon squad, an alternative to sword when necessary. Each of us are cooking up our top comps with Phenn! I love it!!!

Phenn Testing #8: Cascade Log

So I decided to try the Dread EX3 sword cascade log this morning and beat it without too many issues! I picked no automatic revival, shield points +10, and shield points +5 for my challenges. Turns out repeated strikes resistance is practically a non-issue when Hawk of Orsterra + Arrow of Farewell exists! I didn't record it, but Arrow of Farewell's second hit did over 1 million against Herminia the Huntress so 2 million Phenn ult is certainly possible with enough damage limit up! Accessory is vaguely interesting for more passive sword res down, and even without that it's a good stat stick.

Phenn Testing #7

So after seeing @toxiccoswynaut's Orsazantos clear and realizing that the boss has a) lots of health, b) manageable attacks, and c) convenient weaknesses, I thought I'd give it a shot! It worked out well despite one or two instances of skills I needed to use being silenced, and I hit a new one-turn damage record of 9 million! Hikari just debuffs at this point. I think it's time to experiment with another new addition now that I have a good benchmark, probably Molrusso EX.

Bella's Postgame Outfit!

So I finally got this drawing of Bella in her postgame outfit done! It's already up on her Art Fight page, so I just need to make some digital references to finish it (I'm really cutting it close). Her friends gifted it to her to help her shed the mantle of the ringbearer and settle in to a more ordinary life in Wishvale. To that end, I combined elements of the thief outfit, namely the vest and scarf, with the red & green color scheme of the attire of Wishvale's original residents. The embroidered red and blue flower petals on the dress also use the same shades as the vest and scarf on the original thief outfit. I kind of consider this her true outfit so it makes me really happy to finally have it done!

Phenn Testing #6.5: Hunter Tower Again!

So soon after my earlier hunter tower clear, I thought about doing a four unit clear since the only traveler who did anything besides Phenn, Ashlan, Ditraina EX, and Ochette was Scarecrow and one shield shave move at that. So I got it! But I forgot Yunnie was required so sadly I had to kick out Ashlan to do it. As much as I love him, his role was the most easily replaced. Both these clears were really fun to optimize! As a Hikari divine warrior user I'm not used to such short clears 😂.

Phenn Testing #6: Hunter Tower!

@toxiccoswynaut since you cleared Hunter Tower floor 5 EX 2 in 5 turns, I wanted to see if I could clear it in 4. And I got it! I still haven't beaten your Arrow of Farewell damage record though.
