Okay, so I know this debate is as old as fandom itself, but what makes you proship or on the other hand antiship ?

I just read a post where a girl was saying that we should shame people based on their kinks / what type of media they consume / what they like to write about. She said that if you don't want a thing to happen in real life, then you shouldn't fantazise about it. I think this a terrible point to make that literally goes against what FICTION is all about, but unfortunately some people really are fucked up in real life and use fandom as an outlet for expressing their desires soo...

I also saw someone who said people who fantazised about a certain fictional character who did unspeakable acts were sick in the head, while actively glazing and even defending the actions of another fictional character who brutally killed people and tortured them. Hello ???

If you're uncomfortable with a fanfiction, a fanart or some type of fan-made media, just scroll. Bullying someone for expressing what they like on a fictional level will never be okay.

Here's when I draw the line though. If I get bad vibes about the artist / author themselves, if they are openly defending rape, pedophilia, incest, murder etc , or write / make problematic or controversial art about a person who exists(ed), then it is indeed not okay.

I promise I'm never going to talk about it again because it's such an annoying topic, but I still think fandom is supposed to be a safe space for everyone.
