I want to take a moment to respectively mark the first anniversary of the passing of Louis’ mum, Johannah Deakin. She was genuinely loved by this fandom. We experienced her as a such a vibrant, generous, and wise person and a loving mum. She knew how much we loved and supported her boy. 

Especially today, I remember that, in what must have been the saddest and most challenging of circumstances, she thought to leave behind a message for us, relayed through a series of tweets posted to her twitter by her husband Dan.

I still think about that sometimes. The acknowledgement of her bond with us at that terrible time was a measure of her kindness and of her loving heart.

So I think it is ok today to say that we miss you Jay. We remember you with love. We hold you, Louis, and all your family in our thoughts. Thank you for everything. ❤️

hey everyone,

in light of the fact that tomorrow, i believe, is one year since jay’s death, there’s a few things i wanna say. 

1. don’t make posts for notes. only /you/ know when you’re doing that; that’s not something anyone can look at and say “hey that’s wrong!” but hopefully your consciences will stop you from doing anything selfish or making everything about you, and upping your follower count

2. don’t reach out to the family. don’t spam them, don’t message them. nothing. we’re not their friends. we’re not even close. we’re here to love and support them from a distance. the best we can do that is by leaving them alone and giving them space. don’t misunderstand your place.

3. please don’t start drama. antis vs larries, harries vs louies, whatever. none of that. just shut up. if we can’t take one day to be kind and decent to each other, we should all just pack up and go home.

4. it is okay to vent your feelings about everything. for me, there’s been a lot of death in my personal life this year, so i have a lot feelings about everything, as this serves as a time of reflection for me, and i’m sure this is the case for others. in addition to that, though, jay was a presence in our fandom and she’s missed. it’s okay to talk about that among ourselves, but do keep it among ourselves. 

just please be kind, please be respectful, please be gentle with each other, and yourselves if this is bringing back hard times for you, and remember that we’re just fans. and if it’ll help you process everything, personal or not, there’s still the charity drive that’s going on in jay’s name for cancer research.

While I'm also in a really bad place emotionally, I was actually talking about dealing with ongoing physical pain while I'm on an extremely long NHS waiting list for treatment.I could really use a hug, so thank you though, that's very kind of you.

Worked in the nhs for a couple of months. And yep, i agree.

Yeah. I mean, it's a great service, but it's so overstretched and the staff are all exhausted and overworked that it's basically impossible to get consistent and timely treatment. Special shout out to the A&E GP for having absolutely fucking dreadful bedside manner and being the last thing I needed to deal with today.
