Ways For Securing Your Condo
One of the aspects why condominiums are becoming popular nowadays is because on the security that they offer like security guards, multiple locks and entry phone system as well as the fact that your unit is on a high floor. Because of that, condo owners or renters might not be paying attention to secure their unit as what they would do if they were living in a house. You might think that these security that your condo has is already enough and that you don't need to be concerned with it. Unluckily, that not true at all.
These securities are helpful but we know that a burglar can still do ways to breach the condominium securities. They might take advantage on the constant arriving of other unit owners with their guests. Moreover, there are other ways that you can do to boost the security for you and for the other condo owners.
* Talk to the condo association or management and suggest to organized a monthly condo security meetings, so you could all discuss the dilemma and concerns. It is also a good thing because it will give you an opportunity to meet your other neighbors.
* Changing the locks and installing a deadbolt. It is an average condo security that you need to do before you move in and this is generally cost by the management, so you don't have to worry for additional expense. You should also have to ask permission if they could install a deadbolt lock with at least 1-inch.
* Make sure that your building management always retain the door, lighting and locks. This security is already part of the condo alliance that state that the management is bound to maintain these condo security.
* Always look on the peephole before you let someone to come in. Given that you are expecting someone, it is still important to look through the peephole before you acknowledge them to enter your unit. If you don't know the person, make some questions to figure their validity reason.
* Have a sliding door in your condo? If you have, you should use bombastic apartment security measures, especially if you are on the higher floor. Don't think that because you are in a high place thief couldn't do ways to climb that high. Condo usually have balconies and it is what the thief taking advantage, so you need to be sure that you always keep your balcony door locked.
* Be aware and never let someone that you don't know enter the building with you. Burglar are bounder. It is one of their modus operandi, to act as a friend of your neighbor and sometimes they are also act as a delivery guys. If there's someone who stab to go into the building with you and you don't know the person, do or act as if you have forgotten something on your car or just thoroughly clarify that they need to use the intercom to get buzzed in.
