|| fyi please tag your whump tags , it's unsettling to see those kinds of things especially on hiccup. I know some people enjoys reading fanfics with a story line that extremely abuses him but please not everyone enjoys nor a fan of extreme unnecessary sexual violence and extreme unnecessary abuse. (please don't give me an arguement that whump is similar to angst cause it is not.)

            A pair of teenagers , clad in dirty , soiled training suit stood opposite of each other . One was sitting on    the floor of the courtyard while the older one stood just above him , the tip of the wooden sword was hoisted    just around his head .  It was evident that she had WON on their little spar, again .

             It was something , Astrid was already used to -- ever since they were kids , Prince Callum had shown    no interest nor talents with swordsmanship   --     he was more inclined and interested towards sorcery  and    magic   but upon the king’s request to her and Soren ( Mostly soren , considering that she rarely resides in-    the place anymore ) they still continued to teach him despite the POOR progress .  A small sigh was heard    from the blonde  warrior ,    the sword that was hanging on the brunette’s face was replaced by her hand --    reaching out to help the prince stand ,  as  a LECTURE towards his poor footing awaits to be released .

             “ It isn’t wise for me to leave everything to Soren . “ Astrid began ,  a frown was plastered on her face     “ For someone who has an elite soldier as a teacher , that exhibition was pretty SLOPPY . “ she proceeded     , Astrid was not happy but she wasn’t upset either towards the prince. Unlike the king and the others , she-      wasn’t expecting for him to give a great outcome but the disappointment of him not learning anything from      Soren was uncanny  or  did they not trained at all after she had left ?

             “  We should start on your footing and stance again -- back to the very beginning. “

The Dragon Prince AU – Astrid HCs. ( Cause i need more of this kind of Rpies ) 

    - Astrid originally came from the Nation of Duren . Her parents are one of the soldiers who participated to fight against the magma titan and they were both one of the many soldiers who died on that mission .

    - She become an orphan  in a short while but then she was adopted ( sort of ? ) by Amaya , she started to live in Katolis .  ( She was currently 18 in the AU. )

    - Just like her parents , Astrid was good with weapons and combat fighting , this the reason  why Amaya had taken a liking on her . She wouldn’t waste such potential .

   - Whenever Amaya visits her nephews or attend meetings with the king during her youth , she was regularly seen in the training grounds to train , or running an errands or visiting the blacksmiths to sharpen their weapons and fix their armors.

   - She wasn’t the friendliest  and patient person around , considering that she came from a different nation ; she usually get racial discrimination this continued further as she grew up and officially become one of the Katolis’s warrior but she couldn’t careless about it . ( I want to retain her cold and unfriendly persona in httyd1 here ; i’m sure she was also not patient here cause that was Astrid’s flaws , if you remove that flaws - astrid wouldn’t be astrid duh )

   - Though despite this flaws of hers ; She had few Acquaintances and good relationships with others – she somewhat always had a friendly banter/fights on who is better with weapons or better fighter with Soren whenever she and Amaya visits the Castle .  She also doesn’t mind Claudia’s presence whenever she joins her during her break ( Claudia’s excuse was she was already exhausted getting surrounded by males all the time and being with astrid means it was finally Girls time . )  and being her adoptive Mother was the Aunt of the princes , she had spent some good quality time with the princes - mostly with ezran and sometimes Callum whenever Soren wasn’t there to train him swordsmanship .

    - Out of everyone the only friend she openly calls a friend was Gren . Since Astrid was trained and grew up underhis wing . She learned everything from him and Amaya – while Amaya was strict and rough teacher toward Astrid,   Gren was softer and nicer teacher . She almost acknowledge him as her older brother .

    -  She also learned sign language  from Gren but unlike Gren who was expert with it , Astrid has still difficulties on doing it.

A dagger is pulled into a grimy palm and then driven into the shell, digging out the grey snail that had been nesting within. She raises the poor invertebrate above her head with a flourish, tilting her head upwards and letting it slip off the blade-

-catching it with the plate just before it can fall into her open mouth.

The howling wind and the rain battering on the rocks above them didn’t seem to dampen Camicazi’s spirit at all.

“First, we need to cook them, boiling the shells in rainwater should work just fine. If you just so happen to have any butter on you, it’ll make winkles taste better. I think they’re still fine on their own though, as long as you shake out all the sand.” As anyone who ever met (or fought) the Bog-Burglar Heir would know, Camicazi was a very chatty girl. “I’ve heard some people say they’re no better than limpets - does your Tribe eat limpets? - but honestly, limpets taste like Gronckle boogers; I have no idea what those dullards are talking about.”

As she was talking, the girl would kick her foot out beyond the shelter of the rock outcropping, hooking her boot around the handle of a pot that had fallen onto the sand and pulling it to her. She would gently kick the pot upright before squatting down next to the older warrior.

“Back to boiling them, will your dragon help us out? Mine got her head wet, so she’s pretty much useless.”

The golden serpent coiling around Camicazi’s shoulders nipped at her Master’s ear with a huff, then wordlessly brought a talon down to swipe another winkle off the plate.

      The female was indeed quite a chatty person ,  she already matched Tuff and Ruff’s talkativeness but at      least the , young female doesn’t say NONESENSE  -- hers was more of a teacher teaching her student --     sort of talkativeness .  I could handle this  Astrid mused to herself as she watched her unknown stranger ,      teach her how to eat the odd snail .

        During the process of her talking out the invertebrate from it’s shell with the use of knife , Astrid had had     her braid undone , squeezing her hair to drench the water out and proceed to tie it once again . With the --     mentions of Limpets , Astrid gave out a small jerk and a cringe . They were rare shells that was only seen     in seashores of Edge , it almost resembles barnacles and the first time they had tried it ,the time that she      was sure she’ll not eat one again -- ... her resembling it’s taste to a Gronckle’s booger didn’t help her like it     either .  “ I could say the same ... I do HOPE that , that thing you are offering me was different from those.”

         Astrid continued to dry herself as best as possible; eyes wondering around the cave before her attention     was turned back to other upon her request . It was then , and only then Astrid noticed a serpent looking ---     dragon .  She had never seen something as small as that  ( of course the exception of fireworms ) but  the     dragon herself was new to her eyes and if  either Hiccup and Fishlegs was with her -- she bet they’ll be ---     fawning over it like a madman .  “ Of course .  Stormfly “ she called the attention of her Nadder who was  ,     also busy with the winkles - and with one gesture of her hand . The  bird like reptile gave a small coo before     spewing a magnesium flame . Creating  a fire for the both of them -- that’s when astrid decided introducing     herself, if they would work together they should at least know each other’s name.

         “ It’s  Astrid  by the way and you are ?? “

|| I really enjoy writing Astrid’s flaws and imperfections . This makes her somewhat real and more human .  It’s just a part of her and during all through out the movies , graphic novels and series we can see that she was making herself better , esp in the RTTE. ( I don’t know why it was hated so much and how some says it was only hiccup who has character development there ) but we can see her flaws there a lot . She even had a fight with Ruffnut  there on how she had NO Respect to other riders , how prideful she was and how she doesn’t acknowledge any suggestions coming from them cause she thought it was useless and just wasn’t helpful at all but after the twins proving that they were more than just an airhead as what astrid assumes. ( Heck she even becomes close to tuffnut in the series ) and during the Team Astrid episode where astrid was too stuck up on the idea of staying on berk to protect her own that she missed the abilities of the new riders Astrid tries more to understand them and fix her flaws . She openly ask others for suggestions and tries to become more respectful and caring to the point that she was even furious to death when Throk appeared to just make Ruffnut his wife.

and in the Graphic Novel , they made astrid acknowledge her flaws during her conversation with stoick , where  Stoick praises her and told that she was almost perfect to become a chief. She mentions that she was unsure about that and unsure to her patience ( cause she knew she gets easily annoyed )
