KATYA MEYKSON: Katya Meykson’s sculptures appear to encompass vast and indistinct terrains; intimate but distant like a memory. Meykson reconfigures maps into talismanic, tactile objects with traditional embroidery techniques and a variety of materials: paper-maché, yarn, faux fur, tin-foil, velvet and metallic fabric.
CALEB NUSSEAR: Lovely Sky Boat is a new evolution in Nussear’s sculptural work with sheet lead and cut mirror. The penrose tiling in mirror is present, but enclosed within folds of lead and a hot magenta ellipse in aluminum mesh. Mirror studies are generated from reflecting an ink wash painting onto a penrose mirror tiling and photographing the result, which becomes the basis for the drawing
LISA DI DONATO: Lisa di Donato uses computer manipulated satellite imagery as the basis for generating photographic images rendered through the demoded blueprinting process. Set between photography and architectural scheme, the images envisage a symbiotic relationship between landscape and architecture that gives rise to its own organic-mechanical cycle of production, destruction, and regeneration.
