@masterabating and @misfitstogether, hypotheically if i was a person on your planet what would happen to me and what information do you need to determine this? i'm willing to provide it for the sake of science.
i'm an eight sweep old goldblood psion though you have no frame of reference for that.
Wait, are you asking what would happen if you were generated as a numeral or if you showed up as you are? Just for clarity's sake.
...I suppose it would also depend on your stated intentions? Would you be showing up with the intent of becoming a civilian? I'm sure the subords would be happy to accomodate you if you expressed your needs.
we can hypothesize what would happen in both scenarios but i was asking what would happen if i showed up as i am so let's start with that.
my intention is to become a civilian in this scenario.
depends on who finds you and how many people hear about it tbh. the government can't disappear you if everyone knows you're here, but also if you tell the world aliens are real and one just showed up they are going to lose their fucking minds
i feel as if everyone knows i'm there. i'm not easy to miss and prone to emotional outburts that cause my psionics to act out.
I submitted a query. Consensus is that first contact is too vital to behave rashly in, and so every step would be taken carefully so as not to start unexpected causality chains. An alien visitor would be moved to a secure location to ensure their wellbeing, and interactions would prioritize establishing a means of communication and keeping a positive relationship, if the alien is amenable and nonhostile. Information on their intentions and origins is best found out through a willing exchange.
So it would probably take a few months to establish a basis of communications, and then some unknown amount of time to get the populace acclimated to the idea, but if you expressed an interest you could probably integrate into society in two to five years.
oh yeah, moved to a secure location to "ensure their wellbeing", that doesnt sound sinister at all. i know i love to be amenable and nonhostile when secured in locations!
causticBrews has a point.
I don't... understand the issue.
what's your definition of a secure location and what would they do to me there? it sounds scary, for lack of another way to word it.
Oh. It... does make sense that it would be frightening, given your background. I'll try to be more clear about our lack of harmful intent in the future.
A secure location is a place where we can ensure nothing will harm you and all your needs will be comfortably met. Ideally we will help you adjust to life on Iris and ensure you can operate with a high standard of living. The consensus check indicated that a high degree of nonintervention would be optimal, as it would be incredibly risky to push you to give us information at a faster rate than you want to, so most likely you would just go about your day within the facility and only ask or answer questions when you initiate or agree. Otherwise, we'd just be there to support and respond to you.
I don't really know what you'd want in a personal facility, but they'll do their best to accomodate and construct things that you say you need or make you comfortable. (I'd say we would do our best to make you things that are familiar, but given the circumstances I.... don't want to presume that as a good thing.) It's likely you'll mostly be interacting with subords, but if that turns out to be upsetting to you or you'd rather interact with other social individuals, they'd bring a few numerals in.
...Does that answer your question? I can elaborate if you're still not sure.
Hello, Are you implying that your society is open to accepting refugees
Given the circumstances, absolutely?? Your situation is completely unacceptable. Direct intervention would probably be a matter of extremely heated debate, but the only possible objection to taking refugees I can think of is that we can't afford to reveal our location. If that can be avoided, we would want to get as many people to safety as possible.
I don't think our planet is large enough to support a significant fraction of you, but... I don't know, maybe we could find somewhere safe and help people get there? We'd do everything we can to help make leaving possible. I just... don't know what we can do.
It is far too difficult to get people off Alternia unnoticed. However there may be opportunities for those in other areas
y'all have spaceships, right? you make 'em, you know how to use 'em?
Oh yes. I am certain some schematics could be "Legally" Obtained for you
