❝ you are ... ❞ luca stops in their tracks as they see a familiar face approach them while they attempt to leave town ⸻ there's something within them that stirs, red eyes narrowing beneath their mask as their grip on the handles of their bag tightens ever so slightly ... before they stand up straighter, letting out a small gasp of realization. a hand comes upwards to remove that same mask so they can offer him as friendly of a smile as they can muster.

❝ ... you are extremely loud. ❞ arms fold over luca's chest as they turn their head in matchstick's direction, finger tapping against their forearm in clear annoyance. they're used to mortals being loud, sure ⸻ the dead have so much to complain about, after all. but this one ... is alive, well, &&. speaking as though it were paramount for the entire world to hear them. huff resounds from beneath the mask as they shake their head. ❝ if you are going to do ... whatever it is you are doing, do it somewhere else. i am trying to meditate. ❞ / @kablamow ⋙ starter call.

ON : vilexa's humanoid appearance within the mortal world.

to be able to properly combat the threat facing them, arceus blessed vilexa with a human form of their own to walk among mortals ⸻ though this form was hardly perfect, due to vilexa's inexperience. though human in form, there are many features that remain that are obviously not: slit pupils within her eyes that widen in the darkness &&. shrink again in the sun ; sharp teeth within their mouth that stick out just above their bottom lip when their mouth is closed ; markings upon their skin that correspond to the patterns of their fur. upon their first arrival to jubilife village, people were, understandably, freaked out by them, especially in the midst of everything else going on. to combat this, akari gifted vilexa a fox mask ⸻ one that she had gotten from a festival in the years prior, she said. they didn't want to wear it at first, but ... with the people on edge, it wasn't as if they had much of a choice. she was also the one that helped name them "luca," in the end. even in future verses such as scvi, their form is still imperfect ... mainly because of the memories it holds. they're very fond of the life that "luca" managed to make within hisui, &&. keep their human form unchanging in honor of it.

the fair winds of hisui flow gently against luca's skin, their knees pulled upwards against their chest as they sit amongst one of the region's highest cliffs to gaze out upon the sea below ⸻ how long have they been here by now ? a week ? a month ? throughout everything occurring within the land, luca has ... lost track completely. have they been here their entire life ? the gentle blue beneath them seems so comforting &&. familiar, but when they try to think on it more ... it hurts. akari scolded them not too long ago for pushing themself too hard ⸻ don't worry about your memory, she said, it'll come back to you in time. how much time must pass before they remember their true self ? they still glance to the strange device in their pocket for much - needed advice often, though the one guiding them has, since their last communication, been long since silent. a part of luca wonders if they've given up on them, or ... maybe one of the rampaging pokemon got to them, they don't know. small sigh passes through their lips as they realize they've gone from staring at the sea to watching the blank screen, staring at their own reflection. who are you ? they could spiral within their thoughts all day, lost in a whirlwind of emotions that they can't escape ⸻ but something startles them, pulling them out of their trance. it's footsteps against the grass behind them, &&. mask is quickly placed back upon their face as they turn to see who's found their spot. were they followed ? the hand that once held their phone is now reaching towards the bow upon their back.

i think a big part of the reason why vilexa agreed to go down to hisui to begin with is because volo successfully destroying the world would put them into Maximum Overtime trying to deal with all of those souls. like there'd be so many of them displaced &&. lost because there's no way they could handle that many at once ⸻ they were still really young then in comparison to their older siblings. protecting the natural order of death is something that's super important to them.

ON : THE ORIGINAL CREATION TRIO.

vilexa never had a true relationship with any of their big siblings, really ⸻ they themself were basically created to be isolated from the happenings of time / space, as the dimension of death works on an entirely different set of rules &&. principles, &&. so focused on their own domain were they that they never really ... thought much about the others. their first "real" exposure to dialga / palkia / giratina ( or any other legendary in general, really, ) is during the events of legends: arceus. thanks, mom, really cool. of course, now that they have the ability to walk among mortals for brief periods at a time, they take these opportunities to learn more about them ⸻ &&. how humans feel about vilexa themself, of course.
