Vin was pretty shocked, the high and the shock making it hard to even respond. “What? Anthony…I..you’re not gonna do that..” He shook his head, stepping towards his older brother. “Mom just got Anna Marie back you are not going to take Gabe away from her. He’s our brother we don’t hurt family. ”

“Yes, Vincent, I am going to do it - and you’re either going to help me or sit back and keep your goddamn mouth shut. If you tell mom…” He stopped, growled, he didn’t even want to finish that thought. “I don’t care that she just got Anna Marie back. Gabriel is a fuck up and he’s going to ruin this family. He may be our brother, but him being gone will benefit us all. He’s lost it, Vin, and he’s causing problems.”

“No I’m not going to sit back and let you fucking—fuck I can’t even process the information you just told me. He’s our brother.” Vincent said sharply, stumbling a little when he tried to step closer to Anthony. “Im a fuck up too Anth you gonna kill me too? And last I heard you’re causing some problems too Anthony...word gets around you know when someone beats the shit out of your secret boyfriend.” He spat out, a little rudely as well. “You ruined your marriage and screwing prostitutes and you’re saying that Gabriel is out of control?” Vincent was out of control too to be honest, using heroin and getting high at church. None of the three brothers seemed to be very suitable leaders.

Anthony let out a little chuckle, shaking his head as he leaned back against the door, arms crossed over his chest. “Gabriel is a dead man walking, Vincent,” He wasn’t quite sure that Vin would keep a secret since he didn’t spend that much time with his youngest brother, but at this point he just didn’t care. “His time is coming and it’s sooner than you’d think - within the next few weeks. Don’t fuck up and make me want to do something to you too, Vin. I don’t wanna bury two siblings.”

Chris leaned in and pressed a kiss to Vincent’s head, keeping him close as they walked. “I don’t have any right to lecture you, Vin. I mean, I do some bad shit too, it isn’t my place to tell you what to do. It’d be hypocritical.”

Vincent shrugged a little, “Everybody does bad shit...ive never killed anybody..but I still get lectured by my father and god knows he has..youre the only one who doesn't. I guess you're he only one who's not a hyocrite.” he agreed, opening hs door when they got to it and sitting down on his bed, still feeling pretty dizzy.”

“Why? Skydiving is just as easy of a way to die.” He said flatly, “I don’t want safer. I’m not an adrenalin junkie. I’m just a junkie. I wanna go numb not feel how awful everything is.” He didn’t want a rush, not really, he wanted to just forget, to not feel anything at all. “Yeah I want them to care…that’s why I used to crash my car. Get their attention. They always paid more attention to Gabe than me..” he sighed softly, shutting his eyes again. They were watering and he didn’t want to start crying. “Now I think I do it because I just don’t know what else to do. Now I just need the relief…”

Jesse just shrugged. He didn’t know what else to say. “Do you need help, Vince?” Jesse could get him help, contact people if he needed it. He didn’t really know what to say, but he could feel Vincent tense up, obviously getting upset. Jesse pushed himself so he was sitting up. “Come here, Vince.” Jesse opened his arms so they could hug and sit up. It hurt his head such motion, but he wasn’t going to make it about him now.

Vincent shook his head. He didn’t need or want help. Maybe he needed it but he wouldn’t take it. He sat up and leaned against Jesse, just laying his head on the man’s shoulder and accepting the hug. “I don’t need help...I’m fine Jesse really..”

“Stop it..and get off me.” Vincent said quietly, blinking hard to ty to get his vision to stop being so blurry. “What do you want?” He asked a little sharply, not really in the mood for CJ to be so close and so nosey.

CJ sighed, and leaned against the wall next to the sink. “Oh come on, I was just trying to make friendly conversation,” they said, winking at the man. “I’m trying to have a fun night. You look like you’re having too much fun. Really, are you okay?”

Vincent shrugged a little, “im fine...” he mumbled, sighing a little. “Why would you care anyways?” He said under his breath, rubbing his hands on his face again. He could stand now, finding his balance finally.

“Yeah she’ll be alright to not see me…she’s got Francesca and Anthony’s boys to worry about this week.” That’s really why he didn’t want to be there, so he could shoot up in peace without worrying about his nephews seeing him. “Tomatoe sour sounds lovely Ro.”

“Alright.” Rowan nodded. She knew the kids could be a handful, or at least,  she could only imagine. She bought the tomatoes, putting them into her reusable plastic bag before looking over at Vincent. She could see how he was looking rough, even more apparent because it’d been a while since she saw him. Of course she would bring it up later, and he most likely knew that. She caressed his arm softly before continuing the walk, looking at what everyone was selling. “Thanks for taking time out of your business schedule to make time for me…”

Vincent smiled a little at Rowan, she always made him feel better, her energy just making him feel less stressed. It was nice to be around her. “Don’t worry my schedule isn’t busy, I’ll always come see you.” He said softly, “Sorry I haven’t lately though, I’ve just been caught up in myself I guess..” caught up in his drugs at least.

“I know.” Vincent said again, a little more sharp this time. “I just…i don’t know what else to do. I can’t speed around anymore can’t crash my car, can’t race the way I used to. I can’t get that rush anymore. I had to find something to replace it…” he shrugged a little. “Everyone’s only saying it cause they care.”

“Well you need to find a rush elsewhere. Fuck, try skydiving or something. There so many other things that are safer.” Jesse shrugged. He didn’t understand but was trying his best at least to talk about it out in the open. He could only imagine how many just shamed Vincent instead of trying to talk about it, and he didn’t want to be that person. “well, that’s good. They care. Isn’t that what you want?”

Vincent nodded and gave himself a minute to relax before getting up and grabbing his stuff off the counter. “Okay cmon..” he mumbled, heading out of the bathroom and up to his room, letting chris follow along, hopefully to catch him if he ended up falling on the way.

Chris smiled softly as he followed after Vincent, humming softly to himself. He’d started to get shaky, needing something, some kind of high in his system, and this was exactly what he needed. “I love you, you know that?” He moved up close to Vincent, slipping an arm around him. “You’re my favorite.”

Vincent leaned on the other man carefully, smiling happily. “Thanks...I love you too Chris. Really I do. You don’t yell at me or lecture me like everybody else...” he was great fun for that. He knew chris had his opinions of what Vin did sometimes but he didn’t try to lecture him.

Vincent that’s seeing Anthony like that, he was too much like their dad and it made him scared, made him scared and worried and nervous. Nervous Anthony would do more than just sound like his father. “Anth I’m sorry…I will I promise.” He said shakily, trying to stand up and compose himself but with the panic and the drugs it was hand to keep himself steady, and he had to grab onto the counter again to keep from falling into his brother.

“Gabriel’s days are numbered, Vincent, don’t make me take you out, too.” Anthony was unsure if his younger brother knew about Gabe’s fate, whether he’d heard through the grapevine or was completely clueless, but either way the threat remained. He let out a slow breath, nostrils flaring as he watched his kid brother’s every move. “Get yourself the fuck together and come with me. Now.”

“What?” Vincent hadn’t heard anything, he was too busy in his own world of shooting up and getting drunk and destroying himself that he hadn’t been paying attention to anything else in the family. “Anth What are you talking about?” He regained his composure enough to stand, wrapping his arms around himself but not moving, part of him afraid of what Anthony was going to do.

Vincent tender when CJ moved closer to him, and evens more when he grabbed him. “I don’t know what you’re talking about…” he grumbled, still gripping the edge of the sink so tight his knuckles were white. He was just glad he put his shit away before CJ came in he didn’t need any more trouble.

“Oh come on, Vince. We both know it, it’s okay. I won’t tell anyone. There’s no one in here but us anyway,” they said, smiling at the man. CJ let go of the man, but stayed within his space. They chuckled softly, leaning against the sink next to his hand.

Vincent had found himself with Rowan just wandering around the farmers market, keeping the young woman company as he didn’t have much to do anyways, and everyone else was mad at hm for one reason or another. “Dinner? I guess…I never go to family dinner anyways so they won’t miss me.”

Rowan shrugged her shoulders. “Are you sure?” She asked softly. “Last thing I need is Momma DeLuca angry because I took her baby from her for a night.” she put down the vegetable, looking for something else. She eyed tomatoes, picking some up once more. She felt used, and maybe she deserved that for her own job - services. She thought maybe she meant more to the family than that like a friend but that was proven difficult. It’d been so long since she even saw Vincent. “Let’s make some tomato soup - I have fresh bread.”

“I know…I know is all pointless. I’m not looking for a solution just…something to help. Something to make it hurt a little less. I know it won’t ever fix anything.” He sighed a little and leaned against Jesse again. “You don’t have to shut up…”

Jesse bit his lip. “If you know that, then you can’t do this forever.” He was pushing sensitive buttons, and it had him just close his eyes so he wouldn’t have to see Vincent if he got angry. “Was gonna say I’m not doctor, but I almost am. Vincent, I only say this cause I care - you know that.”

CJ stared at the man for a moment, their mind a little slow to recognize the other. They smiled at Vince, and shook their head, walking up to him. “Hey there, Vincy. How you doing? You look a little out of it,” they said, though they were as well. Minor details. “You was just what? Looking at your own pretty face?” 

Vincent’s mind was swimming, and the world looked a little wavy too, and he held onto the counter to keep from showing how stumbley he was. “Im great actually..” he grinned slyly, like he was telling himself a little joke. “Of course...I was just trying to clear my head actually...”

They’re what makes me feel better when I feel so awful.” He sighed again, “I’m in a lot of pain physically..all the time. And emotionally too…and the drugs help numb that pain. Make me forever how awful everything is.”

“You’re chasing a fix that you’re never gonna get from these drugs.” Jesse said, almost too casually for something so serious. He’d seen a lot of members or the family go that way - get in a serious car crash and lose their family and die trying to find something that could fix it all. He could see Vincent going the same way like the rest of them did. “But I’ll shut up now, alright?” Jesse closed his eyes, rubbing his face against him once more.
