“yeah well, i take bitter over stupid every day of the week.” he shrugged, not bothered in the slightest over her comment, fist because he was aware he wasn’t the perkiest guy around, and second because aileen’s opinion wasn’t one he had ever cared for. “when you’re not pulling from it sure.” navid murmured, the sexual implication evident in his comment.

“ its obvious. ” she countered with a sigh, leaning back against the chair and crossing her arms over her chest. she rolled her eyes at his comment, “ i could say the same for you, my hair is far from perfect by the time i leave. ” a small smirk played on her features as eyed him from across the room.

killian’s week had been full of confrontations. his voice would have been hoarse from yelling if he wasn’t already accustomed to having to yell to be heard on set. he was so full of disappointment that at this point, he had almost stopped caring. had the crew’s actions not affected himself, killian probably wouldn’t have given a shit in the first place. “aileen,” he said tightly. “what is it?”

killians words came out as harsh as expected, aileen knew that he had every right to be upset with her and the rest of the crew involved. “ nothing -- i just wanted to apologize. i’m so sorry for the video, it was irresponsible and juvenile and i’m deeply sorry for the trouble i’ve caused you and the rest of the team. ” she jumbled her words together as best as she could, shifting nervously in the spot where she stood.

“that’s really nice. she’s a good inspiration for you. i feel like i can tell the ways you embody her, y’know? — and she is one of my favorite actresses, so, i don’t talk of audrey lightly.” roxanne smiles, genuinely pleased by aileen’s reaction. “i know a couple, yeah. and if you love the mainstream, starbucks is only a fifteen minute walk from here. i go all the time. maybe the fresh air will do us some good, yeah?”

aileen smiled at her comment, “ she was legendary, honestly i think we have similar eyebrows and that’s where most of the comparison comes from. ” she admitted with a reassuring nod. “ that sounds amazing, i’m crazy about a good cup of coffee. not a really big latte person, i kind of prefer it black. ” she rambled, “ crazy, right? i seem like the type to love all the extras that come with it, but something about black coffee is nostalgic. it reminds me of my mom. ” she smiled warmly at the thought.

samson only rolled his eyes, waving away her comment with a swift gesture of the hand. “let me have my moment,” he chuckled, folding his arms. “don’t hate on the leopard shirt, it’s a classic. will never be forgotten, r.i.p,” he said, nodding solemnly. samson hadn’t been able to remove the bloodstains in the beloved shirt, unfortunately. “nah, you’re good. all you did was kiss me,” he smirked. “i got off way too easy, just ‘cause i got hurt. i’m not complaining, though.”

“ it was an iconic piece, don’t let it fade away. ” she laughed, remembering how intrigued she was at the item of clothing. fashion was always a mystery to her, and leopard print was something she saw quite often in this industry and didn’t understand why. “ but if that was the case, we wouldn’t be having this conversation, you’re not that bad of a kisser, samson. ” she grinned, placing both hands in the front pockets of her jeans. “ it’s better to keep your eyes on the positives, it could’ve most definitely been worse. doug could have ruined our lives if he wanted to. ”

zack didn’t reply to her message. instead, he instantly reached for his car keys and made his way to her place, not caring that he was wearing only a thin white t-shirt and some tracksuit pants. among all the cast members, he felt that aileen was the one he was able to relate to the most whether it was due to her love for wine and chocolate or due to the fact that the pair were most evidently mature for their age. whether it was due to their late night rehearsals which eventually turned to all nighters in his trailer, he felt a sense of fixture to her. zack couldn’t image greekcraft without her and he certainly couldn’t imagine his life if it weren’t for their deep and meaningful talks whether in broad daylight or at night. he knew she had a lot of hidden baggage which is why his text truly worried him. the drive to her house was much different to how it had historically been. usually— he’d simply drive home in the early hours of the day, after a night of wine, cheese and chocolate at his place. historically, he’d drive to her house feeling at peace the uneasiness that accumulated inside of him feeling somehow lifted — partly due to the alcohol but for the most part, due to her presence. though this time, it was with a sense of urgency. he didn’t want her to be alone, not when there was obviously so much hurt in her heart. zack takes a couple of boxes of chocolates that were left in his car from fans earlier in the day, as he started making his way to the door. for some reason— his heart was thumping a lot more quickly than it usually did. “hey,” he speaks softly, attempting to alliviate the situation, giving him a moment to analyse the state she was in, “… i brought the goods. would’ve gotten some wine, but i’m guessing you had enough of that for the night.” he watches her, eyes falling from her eyes to her feet.

aileen had been staring at an unopened bottle of ciroc for hours, it was a gift from a mutual friend. she couldn’t even recall who exactly gave her the taunting bottle, but just that it had been sitting in a cabinet collecting dust for the past few weeks. she would never consider herself an avid drinker, but one for recreation. someone who drank with friends at parties and took shots off marble counters, people beaming all around. not one alone in a dimly lit kitchen, full of regret, knees to her chest on the floor. she always strove for perfection, was always taught that the best was a minimum requirement, and lately that standard was not a first priority. and she hated herself for it. the bottle held solace, wine was classy and that’s why it was usually her drink of choice, but tonight she was feeling anything but. she had managed to text at least three people before the bottle was nearly a quarter empty, a new record for her. zack had just been one of the few victims, but was also the one to reply the quickest and with the most concern. aileen tried to formulate a few sentences on her tiny screen, and only a few minutes after the last text was sent, giving her where about’s and stability, he was at her door. the empty bottle in hand fell to the floor with a clank, luckily nothing breaking, as she gazed at the boy standing in her doorway. “you came..” she breathed, looking at the boy with tear stained eyes. “don’t worry about it --” she stumbled, leaning up against the frame, still in shock that he was at her door. “you can come in if you want, there isn’t much to do but i see that you brought the stuff.” she gestured to the chocolate in hand, “so that’s your ticket in.” she had a goofy smile plastered on her face before re-entering her house, waiting for zack to follow.
