To hell with Christmas
tmtheory:
He’s happy in those blissful moments before he becomes a target. His smile is warm, features eager as he holds a bag full of sweet treats close in his arms. He’s about to make off with his stash of goods to enjoy them at the nearby park when his train of thought is shattered.
A bark resounds behind his ear and in seconds his cry sounds out over Christmas merriment and the very bark that terrifies him. He lurches forward, the bag falling out of his arms as he spins around and throws his hands up into the air. Wild animated gestures follow and he believes a ‘Be a good DOGGIE’ howls past his lips before the distinct voice of a fellow student reaches his ears.
Instantly he feels his cheeks flourish in scarlet and though his eyes are drawn wide, fear in them, they come to settle on…
❝Jesus?❞ he blurts the name, fumbles with his own posture and finds his gaze darting around just to see who is staring at them. Quite a few people. Though he tries to calm the rapid pound of his heart, he finds it near impossible with all the excitement. ❝Y-you scared me. I.. wasn’t expecting that–!❞ It’s mean, he knows, but he can only wonder what the boy hopes to achieve all the way out here.
❝I was about to go to the park to enjoy some sweets and watch the lights– are you going too?❞
Though he had acted on his intention to surprise the teacher, he hadn’t expected the redhead’s reaction to be so incredibly exaggerated. People had turned around to look at them -which he didn’t mind- and he was even mumbling some words clearly directed to a dog.
“Ohh, gonna pat my head, sensei?” he asked, grin wide in amusement and red eyes dangerously lit “I might bite yer hand though?”
A cackle that echoed on the back of his throat, making his shoulders shake slightly, Jesus hung his head low for a second before pulling to look up at the other once more.
“‘s what the idea, nice to see it worked” he snorted, stepping once more to be once again in the personal space of the elder man, pressuring him for an answer with that same mocking grin.
A cloud of annoyance seemed to pass through him as he finally got his reply. A click of the tongue and a roll of the eyes.
“Why would I? Those stupidly merry holiday activities are but a waste of time” he grunted, words seep with intense hatred “And ain’t it pathetic for an older man to be doing those things all alone on Christmas? Ain’t you able to at least get a date?” he redirected his annoyance towards the male, a smile painting his factions once more, even if it felt forced now.
