Oh man, this week was WILD! So many great updates… I don’t know how I’m still alive tbh

There was a post a while back (sorry I can’t find it anymore to include a link! D:) pointing out that in Ep 2 after Yuuri won’t let Viktor in his room, he has tears in his eyes and his phone is close by.

Since episode 10 I can’t help thinking that this is what he was inevitably looking at before he goes to sleep… Its okay Viktor, you both got there in the end.

Victor never meant to retire

It’s been a little over a month since episode 12 of Yuri!!! On Ice aired and every time I rewatch the whole series, I find new things worth talking about. I know many people in the YOI fandom were upset because they considered that Victor making a comeback to competitive figure skating was against the narrative. However, I think the series was heading that way since the very beginning. Victor never wanted to retire, and those who think that way completely misunderstood Victor’s character. I’m sure this is going to get really long, so I’ll put it under the cut.

Only Base Value of the jumps are counted. If all spins and step sequence are level 4, all +15.60 pts. Grade of Execution (GOE) is not calculated.

So a friend of mine watched Yuri on Ice and her major take-away was “okay, Victor I get, and ‘-ov’ is ‘son of’ but wtf kind of name is Nikifor” so she looked it up.

Apparently, “Nikifor” is the Slavic version of Greek “Nikephoros" , which means “carrying victory”

You read that right.
