2014’s Top 5 Buzz-worthy New Music Artists On NYU’s Campus
The official list is here! Violet Bobcats Blog’s predictions for 2014’s top 5 buzz-worthy new music artists among NYU students.
After extensive research and consideration, the team at VBB enthusiastically releases what we think will be The List of the most listened to new music artists on NYU’s campus by the end of the 2014 school year.
Covering many different genres, we are sure these 5 new artists will be all over the favorite playlist of many NYU students this year.
Here it is:
5. Magic! – This reggae pop band has a smash hit with “Rude” that is tremendously infections and is sure to do a serious number on Top 40, especially since word has it that Magic! recently signed a deal with Sony.
4. 5 Seconds of Summer – This young Pop boy band makes has a very catchy and energetic song burning up YouTube with Heartbreak Girl and if that’s not enough, over the course of last year, 5SOS was supporting OneD. Need we say more. Not really…
3. Kim Cesarion – With his song “Undressed” gaining massive momentum, the net is a buzz about Kim and his sound that appears to be the natural progression that many expected to see from the new lot of male R&B artists with a sound similar to Prince and, more recently, Miguel.
2. R5 – With an already budding Disney Pop star lead singer in Ross Lynch, R5 – a primarily brother and sister band, is poised to have a breakthrough year in 2014. R5 is already more than halfway there with powerful machine known as Disney behind them keeping their music, videos and faces in daily rotation on the Disney channel. It’s only a matter of time for them.
1. Rise-Ascend & Direction feat. Mimmi – As the only dose of hip-hop on our list, Rise-Ascend & Direction along with pop singer Mimmi may be the least know, but most powerful of our pick. They have a bright, positive and refreshing sound coupled with an awesome ability to effortlessly maneuver interesting and challenging subject matter (including human rights issues) over unique production. Rise-Ascend & Direction with Mimmi are top pick to take campus by storm this year.
