Lance was like Keith’s rock for this season, he was filling in the missing place that Shiro wasn’t there to fill, keeping him grounded

Lance gave him the support he needed to keep going and not give up

He stopped him from making a reckless decision that could have seriously affected the team, like his mediator, impulse controller, similar to Shiro

Keith even naturally went to Lance for support just like he would with Shiro, something he never would have done in season two or season one especially with him

Lance could have easily used his long time grudge against Keith or the fact that he wasn’t chosen as leader as an excuse not to help him, but instead he matured, stepped up and became the person that Keith really needed the most at this time as a leader, teammate, and as a friend

After this season there’s no such thing as a “rivalry” between them anymore

Only a strong bond that is developing and will continue to grow as the show goes along

OK but the thing that gets me the most is that Keith is so conflicted and angry about losing Shiro in the beginning of the season

He doesn’t even smile once, he’s so unhappy and even exploded at everyone once

But then Lance says this, just one simple thing
