       crona’s eyes go wide and they tip their head downward— looking as if they’re going to take their thin body with them, as if they’re going to tip over just from that small movement alone— to look at the little girl. “my… my hair?” they ask, and they offer up an uneasy smile.        “i like your hair, too.”

          the smile fades, replaced instead by a steadfast concentration. this small, small girl with a look of business glinting in her eyes. for a moment, lips pursed, she’s quiet. then a nod. “ it’s pink. ” this information is very important, she hopes the stranger understand.

          the hand drops from the fabric, instead small fingers tug proudly at pigtails. “ my mommy did it for me. ” and then after a couple seconds, she remembers her manners. “ thank you ! ”

          “ winry! ” little legs carry the small child forward, propelled by only the kind of energy children seem to possess. arms wrap tightly around the older girl-- higher up than before, already elicia has seemed to grow.

You see these two? This is my beautiful wife Gracia, i was so lucky to find her, look at her i can’t even believe she’s mine, speaking of beautiful this is my little one Elicia, she’s my daughter! She looks just like her dad isn’t she? She’s the cutest. You see that asshole over there? That’s my best friend, i still can’t believe he cried the day of my funeral, i guess he really liked me. I mean i’m not mad, i’m watching them from up here but i wanted to cry in my daughter’s marriage and get old my with my beautiful Gracia, I gotta admit i wanted to see Al’s body and how ugly Ed’s arm looks. 

I guess at the end of the day my sacrifice was worth it to give my wife and daughter a better place to live.
