One day, while simon was walking around the outside of the hail mary, he spotted something bizarre. There was someone in a white space suit of some kind, just attached to the side of the ship via many many blue wire looking things. They seem to have been there for quite a while. It doesn't look like the ship has been damaged in any way though.

no, no.. clearly not. they're stuck. .. .. .. right..? or.. was this voluntary? .. .. .. it began hesitantly approaching, tail shifting once uncertainly. how long were they here?? did they follow them here or something?? unsheathing his claws just in case, he stopped in front of them, ".. hey. hey. you stuck? hurt?"

The person didn't reply, they just shifted slightly under all the blue wires while mumbling something about the cold.

But slowly, the blue wires started to retract. All of them collecting into the person's left forearm. Or, what was left of it. Maybe that's where they came from.

They slipped off the side of the ship and landed on the beach with a hard thud.

they blinked in surprise, curiosity and a bit of awe filling his eye despite itself. that was.. cool. very different.

he flinched at the thud, wincing as it leaned away and forgot its own wariness and distrust. .. .. .. shit. with a harsh breath, he forced himself to relax as much as he could and retracted his claws, walking even closer and crouching down. that had to of hurt..

".. not sure, bud.. - that, uh.. that was a hard fall. that you just had. .. .. .. you okay?" foolish question, butcher. you know better.

simon wasn't sure what else to do. .. did he just.. talk to them? get something? offer a hand or something? - fuck, grace would definitely be better at this than him.. hell, even rocky.. - huh. wait. if they're cold.. maybe he could try.. offering plushie..? after.. getting it from his home, that is..

It took a second for them to.. gain consciousness? Regain it? Simon couldn't tell thanks to the glass for their helmet being pitch black. The point is, they seemed incredibly disoriented.

They rolled over slightly, feeling the sand beneath their remaining hand. Once their vision came into focus, they saw.. a person? A PERSON!!!

not too much of a surprise from that landing. but.. at least they were conscious at all. that was a good sign. even if he couldn't fully see what state they were in.

simon's eye flicked to their hand and then back at them. sort of.. sort of like him, then? one hand and all. no one would want to be compared to you, convict. .. shut up.

simon stared blankly at them for their apology. wh - were they apologizing for hitching a ride - or what? ".. what for? - did you do something?"

he was.. just as confused as him, honestly.

He looked back over to the man crouched next to him, his metaphorical eyes widening in shock.

He said, referring to the mans mutations.

'you just' what?" simon prompted. simon squinted as they hid their left arm, the action raising alarm bells in his mind. but.. he left the person be. for now. at least, unless anything came up. "you were, yeah. with wires. .. blue wires. - .. if that.. makes a difference. at all."

simon looked over as he did, tilting their head to the side. they then looked back at him.

"..?" who..? "what?"

ah. yeah, that.. made sense. not that he could really remember the fact space was cold due to everywhere he's been - but he doesn't doubt it. ".. right. makes sense."

seemed not - as long as he wasn't lying.. .. .. .. that's interesting.. most likely to help with survival.

simon blinked, not catching what he meant at first. is he okay? - why wouldn't he be? he was the one to fall, not them??? - a lot.. going on..?

.. oh.

he stared blankly, losing focus. right.. there was a lot. fish and other animal parts and.. .. .. .. at least he wasn't screaming or anything. they replied slowly, still detached, ".. i'm fine. it isn't anything new."

simon hovered where grace was, watching him do his thing - content.. that is - before both an urge and a memory of something that grace had done popped up. .. .. .. he moved from grace's side - where it was slightly behind him - to being as in front of him as he could be.

she got closer - leaning right in grace's face - and stared at him, eye rapidly searching his expression. then - they bared their teeth, upper fang on their right side and sharp teeth all along where their mouth was exposed on their left side.

they leaned even more, considering.. this was only fair, right? plus, they were curious. wanted to. was doing it out of echoing grace as well as.. affection? - yes. friend affection. friends show affection, right? like how they did?

either way, he moved quickly next, biting down on grace's shoulder to simon's right - being extra gentle, of course. they didn't want to hurt him or anything. had to be really mindful of his teeth to not do so. leaning back, they blink at him.

*Grace startled slightly at the sight of Simon,* «Oh! Simon, hey! - what’s up?» *He asked with a smile on his face. It was always a joy to be visited by Simon - it never got old no matter how many times they’d talked to each other.*

*Grace fixed his glasses - why was Simon getting so close..? Not that he was complaining, but besides the occasional arm over his shoulder when Simon wanted to know what he was doing they usually didn’t get this close.* «Uh- ..?»

*Grace was about to jolt back when Simon bit into his shoulder out of shock, but stopped himself - plus, if he jolted backwards with Simon’s teeth still connected to him that’d most certainly hurt them both.* «Si- Why’d you do that????»

simon didn't apologize for startling grace as they usually would - nor did they respond to him. he enjoyed talking to grace too, of course, and didn't want to startle him ever - but.. well.. it had a 'mission' right now. she couldn't get distracted.. even if it wanted to.

hmm. maybe he had to do this more often. he probably wouldn't.. since that felt.. odd.. but it was nice getting to openly look at grace. see what he'd do. and the closeness.. hm. they'll just.. store this and those thoughts away for another time.. or never - at least the thoughts, anyway.

simon considered what they just did, having let go and not biting grace anymore. mm. he can see the appeal. biting was sort of fun, he supposed. smirking slightly at grace, he gave him a look as his eye glowed sharper than usual, "what? it seemed unfair that you got to bite my tail and i didn't get to bite you back."
