About Me 🌙✨

Hey everyone! I’m Visscera, a longtime tumblr user returning to the soil from whence I came. I’m a grad student with degrees in English literature and history.

This blog is a hub for sharing my fanfic, writing, and other creative/intellectual interests. Expect a mixed bag of fandom content too.

Fandoms/Interests: Marvel (Loki, all Spider-Man media), Breath of the Wild, Attack on Titan, Tolkien, Hannibal, general mythology-adjacent stuff

Ships: Spideypool, Hannigram, Eruri, Dramione, and Flowerfang, to name a few. I’m very much a multi shipper; if a fic is good, I’ll read it.

*I am anti-censorship and pro-fiction.

Visscera is my Ao3 user. I’m the author of Malamente (linked below) a slow burn Miles/Miguel multi chapter fic that picks up a few years after the end of ATSV. It’s got action, humour, drama (the fun stuff) but at its core it’s a story about reconciliation. The simplest way I can sum it up is this: Spider-Man Pride and Prejudice.

“Dear Sister” is the rare SNL sketch making fun of a specific pop culture moment that transcended the thing it is a satire of. No one remembers the OC but the sketch is still wonderful regardless.

So I’m sure the lore is in the notes but here it is reconstructing from the rusty leaking trap of my memory: the Canadian show Degrassi used this music cue when the character Drake got shot. The OC used it in the exact same way the following year in an episode when Marissa shoots Trey. They also used different parts of this same song earlier in the episode at Caleb’s funeral. Actually connecting it to the the running theme of death/endings through the episode.

once in grade 6 I saw a 'pottery making club' in a ditch on the schoolyard- I assume at some point someone realized there was actually good quality clay in the ditch and when I walked up there were about a dozen 12 year olds sitting around the few girls who had brought their water bottles out to mix the clay, and a designated spot to put the finished bowls and tablets, and people going off and collecting sticks to make designs with and i really think that's the natural state of the human race
