This post is more of a brain dump post. Basically an update of what I’ve been doing lately.

So happily, I’ve been getting back into drawing! YAY!

Many different ideas have been going through my mind, I don’t want to get too ahead of myself so I have been taking it one step at a time. I’ve been experimenting with traditional pen and paper again. Using Ohuhu markers, highlighters, colored pencils and pens. I don’t think i really deep dived like this into traditional art work in a very long time. I do want to push myself in coloring though. This is something that I feel like I’m lacking in. This is still something i know I’m going to have to be patient with because I’m not going to be able to really catch on to this immediately but I am eager to really study colors more.

I realized that i kind of struggled really capturing the appropriate length and proportions of the human skeleton. I’m pretty sure there are some errors. I tried to make the female model have a bigger hip bone then the male model. But i still feel lacking in other areas like the skeleton size proportions. I’m not sure. This is just the beginning of me on my journey in doing studies so hopefully I can bring more compelling models later on :)

Here are some light studies that I have been doing in procreate. I’m starting over with basic studies so I can improve my art further. I now know that my art has been stagnant for years and I haven't been very creative at all. Or let me say that I’ve had many ideas. I just haven't been able to successfully implement those ideas. I essentially didn't know how to use the tools that I had in my tool box. Now that I know what my problem is. I am better able to learn how to use these tools.

Coloso Classes

So I have been taking some coloso classes for about a week now and they have been extremely helpful in my improvement with my art. They are pretty pricy but I just used the earnings that I make from my art to pay for the classes themselves for now. 

I am trying a new class that helps with the improvement of backgrounds and its very fun and interesting. I am a noob when it comes to background art and i think this will be a new and fun skill to have to help me expand my portfolio.

#1 Intro blog

Hello World! My name is Visyn aka Sydney and I will be blogging myself on this tumblr account to keep myself accountable in my growth process.

I am a graduate digital art student who is working full time. I do not work in any field that is dealing with my degree at the current moment. 

I have been drawing since the 5th grade and I have enjoyed drawing characters continuously since then. I proceeded to go to college for my passion so I would be able to apply my skills to the gaming or animation industry. 

Just like any other person who has gotten a degree I am doing nothing with it and I am not quite sure where to look at to really apply the skills that I need to work in the industry. So I created this blog to really help me clear up my confusion and keep me focused on obtaining my goals.
