āIām wearing vintage euro slip-ons with added lace details, high socks, trousers I cropped, a light vintage cotton shirt by a Japanese designer and an old wool overcoat by a Japanese designer. What inspires my style the most is not thinking about dress on a personal level as calculated style - a look. I love throwing things together in a hurry and spontaneously: letting chance and the unconscious play a part. Other than that, I often find myself totally immersed in the atmosphere and images in a work of literature and through this characters and personalities Iāve never seen but somehow totally know and recognize their impact on how I dress.ā

The best part of this:Ā
āShould I risk my life?ā
Then, Slavically, āYeah, I will do it for you.ā
In case youāre uninitiated:
These are the current female volleyball uniforms
The Norwegian team on the left got fined a ridiculous amount of money for wearing shorts to the games
When you compare the men and women, it becomes very clear how sexist the uniforms are.
āSexism is dead women are so annoying to keep talking about itā
*professional athletes get fined for wearing shorts*

its that time of year where people on tumblr are shouting āif you donate to AO3 and not my personal gofundme you are EVILā
ok but what are they doing with $270K??
well as it happens, the otw is a nonprofit so they actually make their annual budgeting and expense reports public (spoiler: most of it goes toward servers and paying contractors)
āwhat are they doing with $270kā is probably the dumbest question you could ask. even without looking at their budget, ao3 is a huge nonprofit website that millions of people access in a single day. probably at the same time as well. thereās tons of data and variables and complex coding involved, what the fuck do you think theyāre doing with the money oh my god
hookers and blow, obviously
reblog to increase the hookers and blow budget for the AO3 moderatorsĀ
thereās something so compelling about stories where a characterās virtues intensify into flaws that lead to their downfall. loyalty and love becoming so all-consuming that compassion outside of them ceases to exist. duty overwhelming any moral compass until order becomes more important than justice. selflessness so intense it becomes self-destruction. let me watch while whatever saved the hero in the beginning destroys them. let me see them fall to their own worst impulses disguised as what once made them good.
life actually gets better when you leave the house consistently btw like im serious
if you don't know where to go, just wander! go to the store and don't buy anything, go to the library just to sit and do whatever you were going to do at home, go to a park and just walk around/sit outside for a bit (weather permitting, of course)
just put some headphones in and walk around the block a couple times if you really have nothing else to do, just getting a bit of air and change of scenery is so good for you
me the first few weeks of forcing myself to go on daily walks (it gets better tho)
Timelapse of acorn growth into a small oak in six months
Best thing I've seen this year
Sprouting acorns is really easy! All you have to do is keep them warm and moist and transfer them to a pot when they make roots.
I missed the last one entirely because I was too focused on āweak jeansā

Three things to always do in rich neighborhoods when you're poor:
Thrifting
Yard sale browsing
Dumpster diving
Explanation:
People with a higher amount of disposable income are more likely to get rid of clothes that are still in good condition, while poor people are more likely to wear clothes until they fall apart. Donating old items to thrift stores has exploded in popularity over the past few years. Shopping at thrift stores closer to wealthier areas means you can usually find really good-quality stuff, especially clothing, at a higher rate than shops in poorer areas.
Yard sales in rich areas are almost always either estate sales or hosted by someone who's thinking, "I don't really need the money, I just want to get this stuff out of my house, so I'll take whatever you offer for it." My mom has scored super expensive stuff for like $5 because the seller was more worried about unloading old stuff than making a profit. I've found rare books for fifty cents. It's dope as hell.
Rich people throw out so much shit that's still usable. Furniture, clothing, electronics, even food that's still good and in the packaging. I have scored so much shit that rich people just tossed in the trash. It's great. Shops in rich areas have dumpsters overflowing with high-dollar items. (Disclaimer: dumpster diving can be risky, do it at your own risk, etc., etc.)
Also in my experience dumpster diving at dorms at the end of the school year is awesome. I have seen working tvs, couches, paintings etc it sucks that they're just throwing stuff in the trash but you can save it andget a bunch of cool stuff!
