3 Gyaru substyles you probably don't know! ~˚˖𓍢ִ໋❀
Haaady (派手)
This substyles is similar to Amekaji but quite different. Haaady was mostly popular during 2005 to 2009. The substyle is based on flashy/neons color and various print like animals print. Hade come from 派手 which means flashy and it really describe the substyle. This style is very inspired by rock and American and British culture of the 1980s, with pieces of various colors including touches of black, tutus, or leggings with colorful prints under shorts. It is a rather comfortable style because it is based particularly on sports pieces or hoodies. Some pieces, like tutus or leggings, are inspired by the scene style which was also very important at that time among young people.
Kaoru Watanabe (ex) Egg model helped launch the style with the brand "Japanese SuperGirl" (JSG) with her appearance in the Egg store in the 2000s.
Saike (サイケ)
This style is inspired by the hippie style of the late 60s and 70s. Like that one, the Saike style is a bohemian and free look that favors comfort and ethics, which is mainly based on "peace and love," with green and brown tones that evoke nature, accessories like flowers or peace signs. Additionally, in this style, there are accessories such as headbands or flat shoes like sandals. Their hairstyles are simple with rather natural colors like light brown or blonde. Flowers are important representations in this style.
Neo-Gal (ネオギャル)
This substyle is based on the grunge culture of Tumblr, nugoth, pastel goth, and music festival fashion. This style was notably popular between the years 2014 and 2017. In this style, you can find quite dark colors like black or dark gray with touches of pastel purple or pink, notably in their hairstyle. This style is very similar to pastel goth.

Yamanba vs Manba (what's the difference ?)
I know many people have already talked about the difference between Yamnba and Manba but some people (especially on tiktok) keep messing them up.
The Yamanba substyle emerged in 1998 in Shibuya, followed by Manba the following year (1999). Yamanba-manba substyle originally came from Ganguro; however they were much more extra than Ganguro.
The difference that is often noticed is their makeup.
In Yamanba, makeup usually has white above their eyes. ⸝⸝.ᐟ⋆⤵
While in the Manba makeup white is above and below their eyes.⸝⸝.ᐟ⋆⤵
And Yamanba often have darker skin (Gonguro skin) than Manbas.

Sujimori ୧₊‿︵‧˚₊⊹
Sujimori (スジ盛り) is a typical hairstyles in almost every gyaru substyle. Curls and voluminous hair need time and a lot of skills, some gals are attending at the hair salon for hours and hours.
I really like the side-swept updo sujimori but I know some gals don't really appreciate it, which I think is a pity..!
