Flashing the text to the blonde beside him, he was certain she had received the same text. “I’m totally kidding, this is the worst prank I’ve ever seen. At least we’ll all get a decent discount off this month’s phone bill.”

   violet rolled her eyes, immediately deleting the identical notification that had popped up on her phone screen. “ you’re not answering that weirdo back, right? he’s just some loser hacker in a basement thinking he’s smart for breaking into a system with little security. “

That day she had decided to walk to her favorite pizza place instead of taking a lyft since it seemed like a good day that was until it started raining. “Of fucking course.“ Cybil groaned as the rain came pouring down over her, the girl looked around trying to find somewhere dry. Since she was still a aways from the pizza place she decided to make a run for it and head toward the dries spot where she bumped into another person. “Sorry.” She said shivering as she held onto her own arms. 

  the young woman had also gotten stuck in the rain, the downside to having to climb down the trellis of the woman’s house who you were sleeping with when her husband came home unexpectedly and then you had to walk home three miles without your jacket. she had gave up making it home, instead huddling under a awning and debating on getting a coffee to wait it out when someone bumped into her. “ no no, it’s okay you can share the awning with me, you’re soaked. “

“You look lost.” Connie commented to the person wandering. Sure she didn’t grow up in Levins like many of the other townies, but she learned her way around quickly. At this point, she could draw you a map of anywhere on the back of a diner napkin (tree doodles included). “Are you looking for something in particular?”

   “ i’m actually just where i want to be. “ violet smiled. “ it looks like wandering but it’s a very precise pattern i’ve spent years in levins mapping out. you see that couple over there? “ she motioned to an elderly couple buying melons at a farm stand a few feet away. “ they come through here every tuesday and in exactly thirty seconds he’s going to drop the basket and she’ll burst into giggles and say jerry, exactly three times. “

“Give me a smile” click “ooh now give me a pouty face, work it, work it!” Christopher cheered as he quickly took pictures of the person in front of him. It was a warm September day, Christopher felt his t-shirt stick to his back, wishing it were already winter.. He lowered his camera and grinned. He looked at the results of his pictures and showed them “You’re really photogenic you know that?” Christopher praised after putting the lens cap back on his camera. Chris tended to take pictures of everything and he often didn’t really think to ask before taking pictures of people.  

   violet grinned, striking a face and pose for the camera. she laughed once he put the camera back down, jogging over to stand shoulder to shoulder with him. “ wow, you’ve got a natural talent for this. look how amazing you made me look? “ she pointed to one of the photos. “ can you send me that one? i’d love it for my facebook. “ violet took a step back, bouncing on her heels. “ can i toss you twenty bucks or something for the spontaneous photoshoot? “

— What’s that figure? Oh, it’s just VIOLET HAWKINS. SHE is a TWENTY year old STUDENT who is CIS FEMALE and lives in Levins. You know, I think in a horror movie SHE would be THE SCREAM QUEEN. They’d hate for The Director to find out THEY'VE BEEN HAVING AN AFFAIR WITH BOTH THE HUSBAND AND WIFE OF A MARRIED COUPLE.

violet grew up with just her dad and older sister, raised to be confident and headstrong. she never has really doubted herself, she knows she’s a kick ass person. 

in high school, she was class president, always smiling and helped the prom committee. she had a few boyfriends but they were more just flings to keep her from being too bored, she had a sense that she deserved someone more on her level.

enter college, she went for a computer science degree- falling in love with the lines of code and making sure her sister had the most up to date computer they could afford. in her senior year now, she happened to meet someone at the dining hall- the woman was absolutely stunning and kept flirting with violet. they had lunch together, cafeteria sandwiches and by the end she had slipped the woman her phone number. 

one thing led to another and they slept together, violet finding out afterwards the woman was married but wanting to continue the relationship anyway. who could blame her? 

it was a month or so later when she met a very handsome man at a bar, they hit it off and once again they were hitting the hotel room and she saw the ring on his finger in the morning. 

cut to a few months later, violet has now pieced together that her two married affairs are actually married to each other and they don’t know about the other’s affair with her. part of her knows that she should tell but she also really loves the game that comes with it.
