So while Zootopia is getting plenty of well-deserved praise for its social commentary and inclusive message, we should also appreciate the fact that the film’s main character is a woman whose character arc has nothing to do with romance whatsoever. Judy Hopps is an actual character: she has strengths, weaknesses, a career, ideals, and goals. Not for one second does the film think it necessary to discuss Judy’s love life, and that was the right decision.
