get stocked!
rough advertising concept for M&C Saatchi Open House week 4!
I'm currently doing the M&C Saatchi Open House programme which is all about different aspects of advertising/marketing. We've covered data & insight, brand experience + innovation and this week: creative advertising!
creative advertising is about using insights to manifest a message visually. it's about standing out and creating a sense of connection/ intrigue to reach engagement with the consumer.
we were tasked with producing a poster idea based on a defined proposition for the band "stocked" which creates easy, frozen meals in the form of cubes.
I wanted to create a simple graphic using basic geometric shapes to reflect the ease that the brand brings. A consumer truth we were given is that "our freezer is a sad place of forgotten food" I wanted to create a humours approach to this concept through the suggestion that the "black hole" in our freezers is tired of all the food that ends up piling up never to be seen again. The ellipse contrasts with the linear of the rectangles to emphasise their strength : the strength of the brand's solution. I used the brand's signature colour as the background for the advertisement putting emphasis on the brand identity. I took colour drops from the photography of the dishes to pigment the rectangles that represent the blocks.
Hopefully I can experiment more with brand identity in the future! However this exercise was really fun!
