From a Small Shop to Supplying Furniture Across India
Every business has a beginning, but not every beginning is easy.
When I look back today, it is hard to believe how far we have come. What started as a small furniture business has now grown into a manufacturing company supplying furniture to different parts of India and exploring opportunities in international markets.
But the journey was not simple.
Like many businesses, our story is filled with challenges, risks, losses, and lessons that helped us become stronger.
The real turning point came during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Those were difficult times for everyone. Businesses were struggling, markets were uncertain, and nobody knew what the future would look like. Every day brought new challenges. Like many others, we were trying to find stability and keep our business moving forward.
During that period, I started paying closer attention to the furniture industry around us.
I noticed that Dhanbad had many furniture shops, but there was no large manufacturer capable of producing different types of furniture under one roof. Most businesses depended on products coming from other cities.
That simple observation stayed in my mind.
At that time, we were not manufacturers. We were buying furniture from suppliers and selling it through our shop. The business was running, but the margins were low and growth was limited.
Sometimes transportation costs reduced profits. Sometimes deliveries were delayed. Sometimes customers wanted customized products that were difficult to arrange from outside suppliers.
For years, we worked this way.
There were good days, but there were also many difficult days. We faced losses, challenges, and uncertainty. Like many small business owners, we had to learn everything through experience.
However, those struggles taught us something important.
If we wanted to grow, we had to take control of our future.
That is when we made one of the biggest decisions of our journey.
We decided to start manufacturing furniture ourselves.
It was not an easy decision. Manufacturing required investment, planning, machinery, skilled workers, and a lot of confidence. There was no guarantee of success.
In fact, the beginning was very difficult.
We faced losses in the early stages of manufacturing. There were operational challenges, production issues, and many moments when things did not go according to plan.
But giving up was never an option.
And slowly, things started changing.
One of the biggest advantages of becoming a manufacturer was that we were no longer limited to a single category of products.
We started manufacturing school furniture, office furniture, hospital furniture, restaurant furniture, waiting area furniture, sofas, beds, wardrobes, tables, workstations, and many other customized furniture products.
Customers appreciated the fact that they could get multiple furniture solutions from a single manufacturer.
As our product range expanded, our reputation also started growing.
Then came a moment that changed everything.
We received a major order from Delhi.
For us, it was a huge achievement.
The project included 200 revolving office chairs along with classroom furniture for a school. At that time, receiving such an order from another city was a big milestone.
More than the revenue, it gave us confidence.
It proved that customers trusted our quality.
It proved that a company from Dhanbad could compete with manufacturers from larger cities.
And it proved that hard work eventually gets rewarded.
After that, more opportunities started coming our way.
More customers trusted us.
Our production capacity increased.
And step by step, Vriksha Furniture started building its identity in the market.
Today, we proudly supply furniture across Dhanbad, Jharkhand, and many parts of India.
Our furniture is used in schools, offices, hospitals, restaurants, commercial spaces, and homes.
What makes us proud is not just the number of products we manufacture.
It is the trust we have earned.
Every customer chooses us because they believe we can deliver quality, reliability, and value. That trust is something we never take for granted.
Over the years, we have continued improving our manufacturing process, product quality, and customer service.
We have learned that success is not achieved overnight.
It is built through consistency.
It is built through patience.
And most importantly, it is built through the willingness to keep moving forward even when things become difficult.
A few years ago, supplying furniture across India felt like a big dream.
Today, we have taken another step forward by entering international markets.
The idea that furniture manufactured in Dhanbad can reach customers around the world is something that motivates us every single day.
When I think about our journey, I do not remember only the successful moments.
I remember the struggles.
Because those difficult moments helped build the foundation of everything we have achieved today.
