#got reminded of this post from tumblr notifications #i still have a bunch of screenshots from this period last year when i was revisiting a bunch of vyn stories #i should look into organizing and posting them after all #if only just to clear out some photos lol #srb #but like. please do know that some (rusty) gears were turning

i'm kinda glad i already ruled out translating Luke's card because i'm not fully confident translating his AU name. names are usually pretty straightforward to find, but most of what comes up for 科维德 (pinyin: ke1wei2de2) is a transliteration of "covid" and there's no way that's what they're going for TT i'm starting to think it's based on corvid (i.e. birds like ravens) since it's Luke, though chinese has a more native term for it instead of transliterating it. and becauseit's not the exact word, i thought of sth like "Corvade"? the change brings it a little closer to the chinese version, and then it's also reminiscent of "corvidae"
