i got vyn's spring card on the SECOND FREE PULL??? i was quickly tapping through as usual but then it played out the animation with his symbol, and i saw "In this cruelest month" and i realized oh that's gotta be april. oH THIS IS THE CARD!!! insane!!!!! so remember that rabbit hole i went down for vyn's 5th bday card? well right now i'm reading a book comparing different translations of a chinese poem and i recognized some of the translators' names because of that search 🤣

#honestly it makes complete sense. these are probably well-known works and of course these scholars have translated more than one thing #but anyway. i love it when i've spent enough time in a topic or genre that i start to form opinions on the translators #they are rockstars and celebrities to me <3 #also i'm pleased to report that someone whose translation i referenced was described as a ''particularly fine translator of classical #Chinese poetry，history，and philosophy''#and the other one i recognized was said to be the ''next in the lineage'' of scholars that innovated (complimentary) in their translation #very self-indulgent post but w/e it's my blog etc etc
