'ello again! (Have infact been *itching* to take a propper gander at this since I've reccived the notification of you answering that ask, alas life and such. Certainly wanted to give this, and in that vein you and your lads their due time and consideration)
As you have written this with a particular order in mind, I will thusly be following that same order. (Non-zero chance that, depending on how expanisve Kythanos' section ends up being on my end, that i might end up table-ing the other lads for another time.)
Do mayhaps however let me adress a couple bits that piqued my attention upon giving your initial description of him now that I had another look at it.
(^ Edit: ah, apologies, hadn't quite planned on this being *just* about the initial descriptor, think, asking some stuff about it and then moving onto the bits you mention in regards to the ask,
Bit akward to copy it over, curtesy of the limitations of the mobile version of this site, though would for the moment leave what I've written thus far on it here -else it might be a hot second- even if it might be a touch akward having to switch back and forth between two separate posts.
Either way, i bid you a wonderful day, mate! 🌱)
Such as his name, might you pherhaps elaborate on how and what made you settle on it? Think, Inspirations and such. (Have smth of a fascination with names you see.
Which is to say, i would quite enjoy to learn the how and of you settling on the names of each of your oc's -the more detailed the better!)
Given name I'd currently say reads as latin or mayhaps greek to me, though given his orgion on Prospero there might be a different leaning to it.
The Ve' I'd figure might function akin to the 'of' the way one might [given name] 'of' [place] to denote of hailing from a specific location.
Hex then being magic related from what I'd say. Which, him hailing from Prospero there's a decent chance his kin would have been psykers themselves[1], though had his line then indeed been in the business of casting hexes? [2]
[1] my knowledge of the TS, their primarch and homeplanet is admittedly word of mouth only. Belive I picked up smth about Prospero having been a colony founded with the intent of being a haven for psykers.
Too in that vein, might you elaborate some on the Cult of Prophecy, as much as the Cult of Duplicity overall? -do intent to take a gander at the lexicanum, though since you are, by the look of things, indeed a TS enthusiast, you might pherhaps be able to fill me in in a more complete manner.
I would like to note that Wyrdspider is a *dope* ass title! Very neat in that bit of spiders weaving nets, fate/magic in 40k being akin to weaving what material exists to suit your desired outcome.
(Too eight having the connotation of oracles, as much as how, in the fables i grew up reading having spiders be characterised as being wise
-do faintly recall smth about hearing how, during the middle ages having spiders in your house was considered a sign of fortune, with spiders themselves being regarded as lucky, though don't quote me on that.)
[2] Might be getting a bit ahead here, though I had noticed that the section on what would have become of your lads had they not become an astartes doesn't include Kythanos.
Which, ok, part of that question was admittedly ment to hopefully glean some insight into the backgrounds of your lads as mortals prior to joining their respective chapters.
Then again, I cannot exactly expect you to read my mind either.
As such, might you pherhaps talk some about the backgrounds of each of your lads? -if I may, i would like to extend that question in regards to all of your oc's such is applicable to.
(Is your orky boi by chance amongst those individuals whom after death, 'regain' their sense of self and memories to some degree?)
Speaking of Prospero, considering that he's still around, he then must have surrived the burning of Prospero[3].
Does he at all mourn that which he lost -mayhaps too hold a grudge against the SW and their primarch or the greater Imperium for that matter; does he?- and is there anything or anyone he misses/regrets the loss of especially?
Which, say, if given the opportunity to return to the Prospero of the past, such that he could retrieve any one thing or even individual, would he do so, and if so, what might he pick?
Too, what of his bond to his genesire; if he were to ever be presented with the opportunity to do so, *would* he join Magnus?
Also, impression from what I gather is that he doesn't seem to be alligned with Tzeench. If such is indeed the case, then what chaos god would he find himself most drawn to.
(him seeming inclined towards patience makes me presume Nugle, granted, should note that I do hold a certain appreciation for the Grandfather myself)
[3] May I inquire as to the circumstances of his having *survived* the burning of Prospero?
That bit about an eight-limbed abomination, would I be correct to presume that such is *more* then a metaphor?
Current theory being that either, this is the psykic manifestation of his presence in the warp, or, with him being very pretty, it being a play on the black widdow, and luring his victims in.
Well, that or that bit about an 'abomination' is due to some mutation or another, though then again, those tend to be the rule rather then the exception amongst those alligned with chaos.
Speaking of off the Cult of Prophecy;
would i then be correct to presume that he's *still* alligned with the cult, and if so, might you go some into what colleges and or superiors he might interact with, be that willingly or not -you mentioned his having rivals outside the cult, and might i inquire you mayhaps elaborate some on those. Too *has* he an/any academic rivals/mentors within the cult?
(Essentially, i would like to inquire some as to whatever individuals he might find himself interacting with on those occasions he had left the silver tower/-s, as much as whatever individuals he might encounter/work together once he set out to prove himself)
Also, you mentioned him being pretty; how and what kind of pretty are we talking here -presume that a society comprised of a majority psykers would hold to different beauty standards then non-psykers.
Does however seem as though that even the ascension process didn't much change that fact.
Which, would and or has he used his looks to his advantage/is it smth he at all takes much stock in? -pretty privilege tends to make ppl agreeable to you afterall, minimum more inclined to leave you in peace.
Side note, his desire to see every outcome in which he is victorious reminds me of off this one passage in 'arks of omen: vashator', where vashator describes how in the Immaterium, all of time is happening simultaneously, him in turn, once he entered the materium and was governed by it's laws, he was wondering how anyone get's anything done with being constrained by linear time.
That in mind, impression I'm getting is that one way to achieve his goal might be served via his ascending to deamonhood, minimum as such would permit him to gather greater quantities of data to work with.
Which, at the risk of this next bit mayhaps being somewhat pedantic; what constitutes as 'victorious' for him -or does he happen to be a completionist?
Too, say that hypothetically he actually accomplishes his aim, what would he, in praxis then do with that knowledge -would imagine that by that point, a good amount of the chances for him to actually *implement* whatever victory conditions he learns of might have passed him by long ago/missed his chance to apply his knowledge.
(Sidenote, can i just say that his getting screwed over via ppl getting impatient is just 🤌 peak shit right there! Lad's a propper *wizard*/wise man and hermit![4]
Him taunting his foes too is neat[5], stacks the cards in his favour to win the fight before it can even come to that point -picturing him akin to a common fly that buzzes around your head but that you can't quite swat away either
Though say, does the degree of patience he dedicates to his chosen aim then also extend towards other areas of his life, and for that matter, had he also been that patient whilst still with his legion?
-figure that he'd likely would have changed a good bit since being parted with his legion a couple millenia ago.)
Aside from whichever outcome he seeks that would see him emerge victorious, I would imagine he's got to sift through a lot of other potential outcomes too -picturing him reading the tapestry of fate as following a shit ton of threads, few of them what he's actually after
That in mind, what might be some of his favourite and least favourite non-victory outcomes he's came across in his time?
[4] those silver towers, does he favour a particular one, and if so for what reason/-s. Too, I would presume that such a space would be not set in it's shape, such that he could mould it to some degree to suit his preferences -lots of words to ask how his 'office' space might look like.
Also, what are some places he spends time in beyond those/that tower/-s
[5] out of curiosity, could I mayhaps, should you have some of those petty insults thought up, mentioned some that he favours? (Picturing some playground level insults here, or mayhaps the sort of spells that are a bunch of very minor inconveniences
-think, the equivalent of stepping in a puddle and getting wet socks, your card declining at the store once when there's a long line waiting behind you, a song you absolutely cannot stand being amongst the top ten in the charts and having to listen to that for the better part of a week)
Him proving his strength in Prophecy and Foresight; how would he quantity such, and as before, what might be his plan for should he accomplish such? -*would* he be the type whom is inclined to plot the grand downfall of a sworn nemesis, or is he content in merely the knowledge that he's got the skills to surpass them should he feel so inclined towards it.
Has there by chance been any repercussions courtesy of his cult taking offence at having one of their own be meddled with?
Also, that staff; might you elaborate on it some more? -think abilities, looks, ways he's made it his own over the years, what about it had been a form of revenge (or was it the simple act of stealing that was the revenge here)
