Actually, I’m more genuinely curious:

What would you call dedicating oneself to saving people and protecting the world at the risk of one’s own safety, well-being (both mental and physical) and life? What would you call being willing to blow oneself up in order to take down a greedy, maniacal, war-profiteering ex-business partner who wants to use their technology to create more wars around the world and profit from it? What would you call dedicating one’s resources to create several foundations aimed at helping people all over the world, and working on creating clean sustainable energy because it’s better for the environment? What would you call flying through a wormhole on a suicide mission with a nuke strapped to one’s back to save an entire city of people from being blown up, and not expecting to make it back out? What would you call neglecting one’s own mental health and choosing to suffer through their psychological trauma silently because protecting others is more important? What would you call having one’s worst nightmare taken straight from their mind and shown right in front of them, where all their friends and the entire world lay dead at their feet, and what hurts them the most is that they are to blame, and are the sole survivor but wish that they died too? What would you call flying back into the source of one’s PTSD (space) to stop an intergalactic despot from wiping out half the universe, and begging a teammate to let said despot kill them in battle if it means keeping the cosmic singularity, that would allow them to eradicate half of the universe, out of their hands? What would you call singlehandedly wielding the power of all six infinity stones and snapping an entire alien army out of existence in order to save the whole universe from being annihilated, knowing full well the use of said stones would burn them alive and ultimately kill them—and that they’ll be leaving behind their wife, young daughter, best friends and surrogate son?

Like, I’m just genuinely curious because that sounds a lot like selflessness to me… Unless your definition of selflessness is where one does the bare minimum to help save the universe, and then abandons their “friends” in the future by hopping into a time machine to go back and live in the segregation era and stealing the future of a woman, who has been the object of their obsession for decades, by inserting themselves into her life and changing how her life had turned out in the future, as well as sitting on their patriotic ass and ignoring every single bad thing that ever happened in the world, allowing it all to just happen all over again, simply because they “deserve” a happy ending? Because uh, yikes.

okay okay okay but imagine during sam’s (numerous) visits to bucky in wakanda, one day bucky casually mentions the notebooks in kept in his backpack during civil war. or at least, he TRIES to be casual about it but sam can tell he’s really upset about losing them for potentially forever, but also he’s curious and he’s like “what’d you write in these notebooks ? russian soup recipes ?” 

bucky chuckles a little and he explains, tells sam about how sometimes he would jump up in the middle of the night and scribble down some scattered memory before it could fade away and be replaced by nightmares. he explains how the good memories, the ones with his family and steve before the war and the serum and everything else, were sometimes the ones that were harder to keep, how they would become blurry and static like a tv that doesn’t work so he decided to write them down, and then the bad ones got written down too because even though they were his own personal hell, he felt like he needed to remember. 

sam’s quiet for awhile and then he says, “after my dad died, i kept a journal and everytime me or my mom smiled, laughed, or made a joke, i’d write it down. i was just a kid and we were so sad for so long, the happy moments were few and far between, so i thought i needed to find a way to keep them forever. eventually i started to write about the days when we couldn’t laugh or smile, or the times i cried myself to sleep and didn’t immediatly run to my mom’s bedroom because she had a long day and needed the rest and i didn’t wanna upset her even more. i kept it until i was sixteen and when my mom found it she burst into tears.” 

they don’t speak much after that but the silence is meaningful, one more little piece of the puzzle that is their relationship slotting into place. 

sam is gone very early the next day (”ex-superhero, ex-captain america business, you civilians don’t quite get it” “i could still bench press you one-handed, wilson”) but when bucky wakes up he finds an expensive-looking, leather cover notebook and an equally expensive-looking pen on his bedside table and when he opens it he reads “for the memories” written on the front page. 

a few days later, sam receives a pic on his phone and it’s just a page of bucky’s new notebook that reads “thought about wilson’s stupid goggles and cackled so loud i scared the goats” with a drawing of a very ugly bird next to it, and that makes sam laugh out loud in the middle of a mission briefing, great timing barnes.

“Don Cheadle has come to the defense of his “Avengers: Endgame” costar Brie Larson after a video published by body language expert Mandy O’Brien went viral for criticizing Larson’s appearance and behavior during the Marvel movie’s press tour. O’Brien analyzed a joint interview with Cheadle, Larson, and Chris Hemsowrth, referring to the men’s body language as “relaxed” and accusing Larson of being domineering by being “stiff” and “trying to be taller than these gentlemen.”

“She is really trying to dominate them,” O’Brien says of Larson in the video, which has earned over 400,000 views in a week. “I guess in her mind, domination equals acceptance…In reality, submission will get you a lot further in friendship circles than trying to dominate and boss everyone around.”

When Larson says she did her own stunts as Captain Marvel, O’Brien slams the actress for being “unprofessional” and immature. Larson is also accused of giving Hemsworth “bedroom eyes,” which apparently means she needs Hemsworth to “validate her” by thinking she’s pretty. The video is both disgraceful and nonsensical, which is why Cheadle put the clip on blast in social media posts calling out O’Brien.

“You should see my ‘body language’ right now,” Cheadle said. “This is some of the funniest stuff i’ve ever heard. Brie was trying to keep her ponytail behind her because her hair stylist kept flying in and fixing it. She’s actually being over accommodating. Amazing.””

Anyway this is a good time to remember that body language experts aren’t a real thing because body language is personal and ambiguous, this woman is just a sexist pig and Don Cheadle is awesome.

Also, no way would this woman tell a man that submission is an ideal trait to make people like him
