The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes (1969)
I think a lot of people forget that Kurt Russell was a very successful child actor before becoming famous for his more well-known movies as an adult. Russell starred in many live-action Disney films, one being The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes. Russell’s character in the film was popular enough to spawn two sequels in the 1970s.
The film is campy, wholesome fun and it’s funny to see computer technology from the late 1960s. The basic plot involves Dexter (Kurt Russell), who is a college student who can’t afford to buy a computer. He ends up getting a used computer from businessman/bookie (Cesar Romero) and while Dexter is fixing up the computer, he receives an electric shock which gives him incredible powers which turn him into a human computer! The rest of the movie is typical enjoyable fluff, so common of 1960s Disney movies.
