Bark Burns (Closed RP)
The beast roared in pain and spun back to face the tree, granting Alhusayn a welcome respite. The Redguard was breathing heavily, already winded from the exertion of trying to fight in the deep snow.
His cloak was weighing him down, the thick fur wet and heavy from the elements. Al took the trollâs diverted attention as an opportunity to unclasp it, but rather than cast it aside, he flung the garment over the creatureâs head from behind, hopefully distracting it from the woman who had tumbled out of the tree.
Staggering forward while the beast wrestled with the pelt, he slashed the blade of his scimitar across itâs thigh. Blood spurted across the snow. Good. Al didnât know if heâd struck an artery or not, but even if he hadnât the troll would at least be slowed down.
The troll howled again and turned blindly towards the source of this most recent attack. Alhusayn scrambled away, again missing a swipe of those deadly claws by an unnervingly narrow margin, but lost his footing and planted face-first in the loose white powder. Mumbling a curse through a mouthful of cold snow, the Redguard struggled to get back on his feet as the enormous hairy beast bore down on him.
Stumbling, but for a moment, the half- Imperial managed to get her feet situated in the matted down snow where sheâd landed. The world around her felt like a filter of haze was over everything, that the tree-branches had knocked more than just the wind out of her. Disregarding her surroundings, in almost Nordic fashion she snarled and screamed a war-cry to accompany her sprint forward.Â
The blinded creature had itâs back to her and now was the perfect opportunity. However, the half-imperial stumbled on a tree-root that had stuck up through the powder. âShit.â She hissed in her thoughts. Holding her hands out, she caught herself, immediately pushing herself up and resuming the sprint towards the beast.Â
Stepping into the thrust with her sword, the point pierced through the thick hide of the Trollâs midsection. Sheâd angled the blade up and sheathed it as far as she could in before the beast flung itâs arm back blindly. The blow hit her crost the side of her head and dislodged her fingers from the handle of the blade. With a sloppy backstep, she stumbled before making her final move.
Putting power through her right leg, she used the Trollâs thigh as a step to get higher. Seeing as it was thrashing and moving itâs arms wildly to grasp at anything or perhaps ease the pain it was feeling. Upon stepping up, she felt a blow to her midsection of a blunt-forearm. Growling and persevering Caitlyn lifted her leg over the thrashing beastâs shoulder to position her weight upon itâs cloak covered head.Â
With her thighs, calves and legs as a whole she squeezed, holding onto the beast with all her might as she commenced stabbing with the dagger. the blade pierced through the cloak, hitting itâs left eye, center eye, face, mouth. Howls of pain filled the air as she continued, yelling savagely. âDie! Die! Die! Die!â Each word in tandum with every thrust that appeared to have no pattern, only seemed to wet the cloak and her gauntlets with the beastâs blood.
Finally, the troll appeared to give up, succumbing to the blood-loss, the pain, but she kept on stabbing, even as the troll defiantly lowered itself to the ground, grotesque hand digging into the powder. Before long, with the troll flat on the ground, Caitlyn withdrew her dagger, breathing harshly, steam forming at the mouth with each labored exhale. With a level of exhaustion tugging at her, the half-Imperial wiped her red cheek with the back of her gauntlet. Wincing, not due to the blood being spread to the tender flesh, but due to the bruising that was already settling in past the adrenaline.
