I love having a job where I can Just Say Things
have you ever taken an improv class

i'm genuinely surprised by the results i feel like a lot of people on tumblr would thrive in improv but it's probably bc people who follow me are generally chill and cool
a Goddess creates a Woman, later creates a man so the Woman “isn’t bored”. all humans are referred as the “daughters” of the Goddess. the only male figures in the religion are husbands or fathers of the female prophets; generally males are listed among the properties of a Woman - she has cows, sheep, land and a few husbands. men are advised not only to accept their status, but to take pride in it, since their inferiority is a part of the Goddess’s plan. all religious leaders are female, and they teach Women how to treat their husbands - how to dress them in order to hide their body from Women, how beat them properly.
does this sound like something men could ever accept, believe, promote to each other?
I know that the post was especially trying to make a commentary about Christianity, and many people in the comments picked up that same opinion without understanding the complete inaccuracy, so I will explain each claim and the inaccuracies in them
Claims made:
God creates a man, later creates a woman so the man isn't bored
• boredom is not listed as a reason at all
"The Lord God said, 'It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.'" (Genesis 2:18)
The phrase here in Hebrew is עֵ֖זֶר כְּנֶגְדּֽוֹ which is more akin to a life-sustaining kind of help, an equal partner, or someone who is strong where the other is weak. This is not subordinate at all. That phrase describes women as being necessary, integral, and equal to men
All humans are called sons of God
• Often the Bible uses "τέκνα" meaning children, not sons or daughters specifically, it is a neuter word
"But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become τέκνα of God" (John 1:12)
"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called τέκνα of God; and so we are" (1 John 3:1)
"The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are τέκνα of God" (Romans 8:16)
The only female figures are wives or mothers of male prophets
• Mary Magdalene was not a wife or mother and was a follower of Jesus, who travelled with Him
• Priscilla, while mentioned with her husband, and often placing her name before his, was praised for being a wise woman and teacher of the Gospel
• Ruth has a whole book written regarding her life. Her marriage is only mentioned to show the relevance of her Jewishness despite being Moabite
These are just three of the women who are not just mothers or wives in the Bible
Women are listed among the properties of men
• There are a very few number of verses which mention wives in a list of "properties" but it is not equating those women to being literally property like a house or cattle. We do the same in English. "*My* house", "*my* car", "*my* phone", "*my* husband". There is a single word for possession and that carries over into people like husbands, wives, friends, mothers, cousins, anyone. In Deuteronomy 5:21, the wife is separated from the properties:
"You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. You shall not set your desire on your neighbor’s house or land, his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."
Women are advised not only to accept their status, but to take pride in it, since their inferiority is a part of God's plan
• Women are not inferior. The Bible teaches that women and men are equal, as shown in verses like:
"So God created mankind in His own image. Male and female He created them." (Genesis 1:27)
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ." (Galatians 3:28, this especially shows the lack of division and the full equality among all of us Christians)
"Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit." (Acts 2:17-18)
"Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ." (Ephesians 5:21)
All religious leaders are male
• This is true. Priests are to be men. Deacons should also be men. This doesn't mean that women are not valued, however. As shown above, women and men are equals under Christ in God's sight. Here are a few verses as well to consider, which show that women can also be called to be teachers and evangelists:
"Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time." (Judges 4:4)
"He began to speak boldly in the synagogue, but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.” (Acts 18:26)
...and they teach men how to treat their wives - how to dress them in order to hide their body from men
• There is no Biblical commandment to men for how to dress your wife. There are commandments *to women* on how they should dress themselves.
"I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God" (1 Timothy 2:9-10)
"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight." (1 Peter 3:4)
• Both of these verses are centered on dressing in a modest and humble attire, and emphasising the beauty of the heart and soul more than the outward appearance. Neither of these are bad things. On top of that, men are also called to an attitude of modesty and humility.
...how beat them properly
• At no point does Christianity condone beating your wife. In fact, the complete opposite is commanded. Here are a few of the ways the Bible requires you treat your wife:
• be willing to sacrifice your life for her
• treat her with kindness
• treat her gently
• honour her
• treat her with respect
• work for her
• nourish and cherish her
(Ephesians 5:25-28, 1 Peter 3:7, Colossians 3:19, 1 Peter 3:7, 1 Timothy 5:8)
Tags were put in so beautifully that I had to add it to my post
TO BE FAIR.
There ARE people who consider themselves Christians who teach all of that horrible stuff about women, and also argue that arguing against them is to argue against God Himself and that any other version of Christianity that actually teaches that women are people has been "corrupted by feminism." These people (mostly men but with some women involved as well) say that women are genetically too stupid to make decisions, that women should not be allowed by their husbands to wear anything but modest dresses, that there is no such thing as an "adult" but three kinds of human: children, women, and men, and that men always have total control of the bodies of their wives. Corporal punishment is encouraged for when women make mistakes, and forcing themselves on their wives is considered a solution to women repeatedly saying no to sex. (One of the men involved in this type of subculture complained bitterly that marital rape laws had stolen rightful male authority.)
Which is why posts that debunk these kinds of claims are SO important. The Bible teaches absolutely none of that misogynistic garbage and God and Jesus are SHOCKINGLY pro-women for the time. To quote Joy Davidman:
"Every statement our Lord made about sexuality works to protect women and to awaken men to their own responsibilities. Condemning adultery, He yet forgave the adulteresses who repented and loved God, and denounced the lustful and loveless men who caused them to sin. Perhaps that, in itself, is enough to prove Him more than man. For throughout history even the best of men have usually sought to shift the blame for their sexual weaknesses to the women. 'The woman tempted me and I did eat!' cried the father of the tribe, and 'The woman tempted me!' has been the cry ever since, whenever someone ate where he should not."
Davidman, who lived through an abusive marriage to William Gresham, is quite literally one of the last people who would ever follow the teachings of a misogynistic god.
Showing what the Bible actually says, and not what either detractors or those who wish to install themselves into total authority claim it says, is literally holy work.

The City of Atlanta Georgia has decided to demolish the research and conservation center of the Amphibian Foundation. This organization works tirelessly to conserve the Frogs, Toads, Salamanders, Newts, and other amphibians in the United States. In addition, they provide key education for herpetologists on the care, conservation, and preservation of reptiles and amphibians.
This emergency need is compounded by the government mass firing of conservation officials and the pulling of funds from many of the country's conservation organizations.
If you can help please donate here:
The building where AF is located will be demolished in June 2026.
Key points from the Amphibian Foundation.
Our building will be demolished in 2026, and we need to identify a new location (or locations) for 7 labs and over 1,000 animals, many of which are endangered and part of critical conservation programs.
We've identified a new location for most of AF, but not our research and conservation programs. We have an amazing lead, but it's not confirmed yet.
Our first fundraising project is the AF Emergency Fund as the minimum cost estimates to move this many labs and animals safely is $50,000. (It costs about 50 USD per animal to move them)
If you can't donate.. please share... here.. and everywhere else.
Hey guys! I'll be opening donation commissions for this fundraiser- send me proof donation and you'll get some cool art of an animal of your choice!
Amphibians are already super underrepresented in conservation, despite being one of the most endangered groups in the world. The AF has just raised $80,000 so far, and is trying to get up to $100,000; this will provide care for 1,000 amphibians while the AF sort out what to do next. If we can help them reach that goal that'd be amazing!
Reblogging this again- as of today the AF only needs $5000 to reach their goal!

the cultural object of the black hole is kind of remarkable. It's almost an anti-God in a sense, a negative infinity. Yeah there's this kind of dead sun that's collapsed into an infinitely dense point, and if you fall past its event horizon you're fucked. Every schoolchild knows this. A black hole can be introduced in a superhero blockbuster without any explanation except for its established look and the name "black hole", and this will be understood as the ultimate natural disaster, which even superman could not hope to defeat. truly S-tier cosmic object
If there's any proof we need that our reality is made of math, it's that graph function singularities exist as physical features of our world. Undefined algebraic points exist, we can see them, they float around space touching things and fucking them up beyond all recognition, and they look like marauding black death wrapped in a spherical gradient of tortured spacetime.
Like, words literally cannot describe how cool black holes are. If they did not actually exist, I doubt that the world's 100 top rated sci-fi writers locked in a room for a month brainstorming could come up with anything nearly as good. When do you ever get something that is as top tier psychologically impactful as it is so deeply rooted in fundamental scientific truth about reality?
Physicist here!
Black holes are the ultimate astronomical phenomena. They are regions where the very structure of reality is contorted into something alien. Defined not by substance but by the warping of spacetime, a black hole is a solution to Einstein’s field equations wherein the metric tensor collapses into a singularity—an infinitesimal point of infinite density, where curvature diverges and our mathematical descriptions disintegrate. The event horizon, delineated by the Schwarzschild radius , marks a boundary beyond which causal relationships cease to propagate outward. Nothing—not matter, not light, not information—can escape. From within, the geometry of spacetime becomes so distorted that all paths, all timelike geodesics, inevitably lead inward, like water down an infinite drain.
Time bizzarelt dilates near the horizon; a distant observer would see infalling matter slow, redshift, and fade, asymptotically frozen in time, somewhat like a hologram eternally flickering at the border. Simultaneously for the falling observer, however, the descent is finite and inexorable as space collapses inward, and the singularity looms in a finite proper time. Should one hypothetically remain on the event horizon itself, a null surface traversed only at the speed of light, the geometry becomes especially... strange: light emitted tangentially could orbit indefinitely along the photon sphere, forming a closed loop. So in this scenario, were you to gaze precisely forward, the curvature would distort light rays around the hole to the point you'd witness the back of your own head—an optical recursion born not of mirrors but of warped topology.
Even the notion of mass becomes disquieting here. A black hole's presence is encoded in the curvature it imposes, describable via the Einstein tensor and its coupling to the stress-energy tensor , yet the interior contains no structure! No matter, no surface, only the singularity at , where predictability ends. The laws of physics as we understand them yield only silence in response. And yet, paradoxically, black holes are not immutable. Quantum field theory on curved backgrounds predicts Hawking radiation: virtual particle pairs near the horizon become real, draining the hole of mass over unimaginable timescales, leading to eventual evaporation. What remains, if anything at all, is unknown. In this way, black holes are less objects than they are boundaries of comprehension: blind spots in our cosmology where mathematics hints at truths too extreme, too indifferent, to be made fully human.
You can actually die from giving birth.
This is one of the points that the "adoption is always an option" folks forget.
People don't like to die over a child they don't want.
Every day, 800 mothers die from complications linked to pregnancy.
Even if nobody dies, a pregnancy is still a very big deal, because a person with a utero has to carry a fetus, and be disabled, for 9 months.
After the pregnancy, the body must re-adapt to its normal shape, and this process, even if not dangerous, is long and uncomfortable.
Pregnancy is a big deal, don't force it on other people.
Other than that, you can't really ban abortion, you can only ban safe abortions, since from the very first time people started to write about pregnancy, they started to write about abortion too.
You can die from getting an abortion too. Because you’re still technically giving birth. Once you’re pregnant your body has to deliver the baby, which is something pro-aborts don’t seem to understand. It’s just a matter of delivering a dead baby rather than a living one.
Another thing you guys don’t understand is that maternal mortality numbers include women who died from getting an abortion.
Abortion triples the maternal mortality rate (and, interestingly, it was also found that a safe delivery is linked to reduction in mortality risks that are associated with both miscarriage and abortion).
Abortion also increases the risk of premature death for a woman by 50%.
The chart below shows us that the maternal mortality rate in childbirth is nearly 0% in most of the developed countries around the world. This shows us pregnancy and childbirth isn't killing women and abortion isn't saving lives.
Y’all need to stop acting like abortion is some incredibly easy, safe, risk free alternative to birthing a baby because that is not at all what it is.
Abortion is not safe.
Abortion harms women's mental health
some bullet points from the article:
″Women who have had an abortion have an 81% higher risk of subsequent mental health problems compared to women who have not had an abortion.”
″Women who aborted have a 138% higher risk of mental health problems compared to women who have given birth.”
″Women who aborted have a 55% higher risk of mental health problems compared to women with an "unplanned" pregnancy who gave birth.”
″Women with a history of abortion have higher rates of anxiety (34% higher), depression (37%), alcohol use/misuse (110%), marijuana use (230%), and suicidal behavior (155%), compared to those who have not had an abortion.”
Abortion increases the risk of breast cancer by 44% in women who have had just one abortion and the risk gets even higher with multiple abortions.
There are multiple risks associated with abortion.
More ways abortion harms women:
31% of women having abortions report suffering physical health complications (1)
10% of women having abortions suffer immediate, potentially life-threatening complications (2, 3, 4)
Women have a 65% higher risk of clinical depression following abortion vs. childbirth (5)
65% of women suffer symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after abortion (1)
Women’s death rates from various causes after abortion are 3.5 times higher than after giving birth (6, 7)
Many women describe their experience as ‘a nightmare’, which can hardly equated with ‘choice’. 60% of women surveyed after abortion responded that: ’Part of me died’ (1)
Suicide rates among women who have abortions are six times higher than those who give birth (7, 8)
Abortion increases a woman’s risk of future miscarriages by 60% (9)
A procedure that carries all these severe risks is not safe for women. Anyone who is genuinely concerned with the health and safety of women would not advocate for abortion or brush off the multiple studies that show how harmful it is.
And pregnancy does not make a woman disabled 🤦♀️
friendly reminder that this blog is pro-life!
btw while people continue to fight the system don't forget about Undue Medical Debt (formerly RIP Medical Debt), a charity that buys and forgives medical debt. on average a donation of $10 will forgive $1,000 of medical debt.
I'm fairly confident that this is now the one original post I've made that has gotten the most notes, and I honestly couldn't be happier. the more attention we give this, the higher the chances that someone will see this and donate. medical debt is both one of the most crushing things a person can deal with and one of the stupidest things humanity has invented. and if you live in the US, I have no doubt that you've had to deal with medical debt in your life, either for yourself or a loved one. even a small donation can do so much good, and now is the time of year when we are encouraged to think of others.
How people can mistakenly think or just subconsciously feel food works: there are “unhealthy” foods like pizza or fried chicken and “healthy” foods like fruit salad or steamed vegetables. Every time you eat an “unhealthy” food you’ve harmed yourself in some way.
How food actually works: foods contain carbs, proteins, fats, sugars, vitamins, minerals, fiber and/or other nutrients. Your body needs and uses all of them but it would like to have a little of everything every day. If you ate pizza or fried chicken for lunch then that’s probably your fat and protein for the day with extra that your body will make use of in time, so it’s a good idea to make your next meal something different like that fruit salad or steamed veggies. You can have that fatty lunch every single day if you just maintain balance and stay active enough to actually use what you’re stocking up on because foods aren’t “good or bad;” they just either fit into the rest of your diet and lifestyle or they don’t.
Thanks, OP.
also your body doesn’t necessarily work on a daily cycle, it’s not so neat as to understand linear time and how we choose to divide it. You don’t have to try and find perfect balance every single day, sometimes you will go three or four days eating less or eating more. Sometimes you will crave fats or salts or sugars or greens for a few days at a time before your body will decide it’s gathered enough resources in one particular department. The balance is achieved over time and in uneven tides, and that’s good and fine.
Original post has been going around for years now but this fairly recent addition is a really good one I needed to be reminded of too. We don’t just reset to 0 every night.
