itâs so funny when you watch a show or play a game where you know the fandom is super hype about a ship and youâre like âthereâs no way they are actually like thatâąâ but then you consume that media and are like âholy shit how did the fandom undersell how fucking gay these losers areâ
Manga Spoilers!!
this is the equivalent of your friends pushing you towards your crush to "help you out"
LOOK AT SAKO'S FACE I'M CRYING LMFAO
literally EVERYONE in shishitoren is wingmaning these two this is hilarious
THEY'RE NOT EVEN HIDING IT AKSNSJSJ
Wind Breaker is one of my favorite shonen because it doesn't feel like a shonen at all and it's just a psycho-analysis of traumatized teenagers in gangs. And they're also gay.
One of my favourite things about Wind Breaker is that it's actually all about the community but is disguised as a delinquent fighting anime/manga.
Like the main character is a feral kitten of a boy that gets adopted by his new school/town and shown love and understanding from his community for the first time in his life. They teach him that he is no longer alone and is supported and cared for by everyone around.
It shows people to coming together to not only physically protect the town and its people but also their hearts and dreams. They continuously help and support each other without expecting anything in return. They are always lifting each other up.
They even have community events where they help clean up the town or have a huge feast.
Even the leader's hobby is community focused as he established a community garden on the roof of the school and gives all of the vegetables back to the community. The first time he speaks he tells everyone that it's their responsibility to help protect the town then starts planning a group beach trip.
The reason why everyone is so strong is because their community supports and influences them. There are examples of other teams failing and losing to Bofurin because they lost their sense of community (I'm looking at you Shishitoren).
The depiction of community is truly beautiful.
Honestly, I probably could write an entire essay on the importance and impact of community in Wind Breaker.
Read a fic where Sakura asked for Togame's phone number after their stage fight cause he thinks he's cool and wants to keep in touch with him and the rest of the Bofurin gang present are just, baffled. Like why does he get to have your phone number not us we're literally schoolmates??? And Sakura's like why would I need your phone number when we get to see eachother every day and Togame and Choji are at the back laughing their ass off at their misery.
Unfortunately though, the fic only has one chapter and hasn't been updated since last year :( But I like to think that Kaji is the second person Sakura asked for after the Risa-chan chase. Nirei and Suo looked at him cartoonishly dejected and hurt because a SECOND YEAR got Sakura's number before them. Kaji is so confused and ask him why and Sakura said it's because he thought he was cool. Kaji was a blushing mess after that but gave him his phone number anyway. Enomoto and Kasumi teased him out of it cause he's "picking favorites" and "doting on his favorite kohai" (which he totally would but he won't admit it) But when no one is looking, Kaji would smile to himself all smug and victorious that one of his Kohai thought of him as cool.
The third person I like to think Sakura asked for is Tsubaki, but it's after his fight with Suzuri. Umemiya and Hiragi actually told him about what happened back a Shishitoren so he knew what it means if Sakura asked for your phone number, Tsubaki squeeled in delight and hugged-the-soul-out-of-Sakura-part-2 because to Tsubaki, it's the stamp of confirmation that Sakura Haruka believes that you are cool. Tsubaki wouldn't stop flaunting Sakura's name on his contact list to Umemiya and Hiragi.
Sakura actually wanted to get Nakamura's, Miyoshi's, Otowa's, and Hidaka's number too but got too embarrased so he decided against it.
Kiryu did an uno reverse so instead of Sakura asking for Kiryu's phone number, Kiryu asked for Sakura's phone number cause he thinks he's cool after they fought togther. Nirei sulked in jealousy while Suo tightened his hold on his hands, his smile becoming unusually tight.
Bonus point after the Norshi-War, Endo went to Furin to look for Sakura. When Sakura thought he was looking for a fight, Endo was actually going to ask for his phone number. Sakura wasn't thinking on what he was gonna say and blurted "Ew man why would I??" And Endo got so caught off guard because ew??? Ew?? The entire of Furin ('cause let's be honest of course they'd evesdrop" laughed their ass to hard almost everyone in Makochi and their mother heard them. Especially Nirei and Tsubaki as the Presidents of The Endo Yamato Hate Club.
Chat be honest do I yap to much about Sakura 'cause I don't think I've yapped about him that much yet
It may seem silly that people mistreated and bullied Sakura just for his hair and eyes but the moment you feel ostracized and put apart, you yourself start getting further and further away from people which opens them up to go harder on things and even create other things about yourself you didn't even know they were real. They were never real, but you start believing they are cause people keep telling you over and over again, so yeah you might aswell be the weirdo, actually become worse so they'll have something to fear.
Idk Sakura's full backstory and by searching social media it's still not known, but whatever it is Sakura has probably become my favorite character ever.
If this made no sense ignore me it's midnight here, it's yapping time
everyone saying wind breaker is too unrealistic AND I HOPE IT STAYS THAT WAY
I hope these boys never have to go through corporate hell, i hope they don't have to circle back. i hope an email never finds them. i hope they never clock in to a 9 to 5
Nirei really is the ultimate supportive cheerleader best friend ever
He'll log in for Kiryu's gacha games when Kiryu can't. He's always down to eat at Tsugeura's protein restaurant. He starts conversation with Sugishita who actually speaks back the most to Nirei outside of the upperclassmen.
He is the one that Sakura looks to when he needs an explanation or guidance (clap hands prayer style when at a funeral, identifying who is who etc). He shows us Suo's less teasing and more patient side when they train together.
Nirei is the more socialized friendly version of Sakura for real and I love his character soooo much!!!
Okay okay everybodyâs been reblogging That Rich Post From MONTHS AGO that mentions that the theory that PW is the player, going âum actually itâs PRESTON and NOT the PLAYER so RICH must be the playerâ
And unless CH5 has some complete plot twist that Iâll go into later, thereâs one big reason I cannot take âPlayer Richâ theories seriously:
Rich cannot shut up to save his life.
It has been a defining trait since chapter one, it has been established in EVERY TAPE, in chapter two Rich even confirms he talks to himself. He blurts out things he shouldnât say, he hums when things are quiet.
So unless CH5 reveals he had his throat torn out or something, I cannot believe heâd be a Silent Protagonist.
Honestly the only character I can think of is Avery. He gets brought up in CH2, the Employee Handbook, and heâs even in the Fortnite update. For whatever reason, heâs important.
That, and the fact that heâs the one of the first voices we ever hear. The order goes:
Elliot Ludwig - the founder, reason this whole thing happened
Poppy Playtime - the namesake of the game
Leith Pierre - the Head of Innovation, major character
Avery - some guy, followed by Rich.
Him being a foil to Rich by being much quieter is also an intentional element of his character, because in the earlier placeholders for the CH1 tapes, his dialogue is completely different. The rest of the placeholders are rather similar, but Averyâs dialogue went through an overhaul. The devs made a conscious decision to make Avery quieter, a trait more befitting of a silent protagonist.
And hey, it fits more with Sawyerâs dialogue. Harley wouldâve likely recognised a fellow Head, since Rich was Head of Shipping. Avery was just a warehouse worker.
Reblog if you think the person you reblogged this from deserves to be happy.
So, the FMA live-action films weren't great, but I do love the ending, where they keep Roy blind.
Idk, it sort of fits in with one of FMA's themes being to keep moving forward.
And maybe I love the Royai vibes of Riza telling Roy that she'll be his eyes and to come look at the sun with her.
I like how open ended it is. Maybe they can cure his blindness, maybe they won't. Maybe they'll find redemption for Ishval, maybe they can keep on living.
Part of what makes Roy and Riza so compelling is that, we don't know exactly what will happen with them, but we know they'll keep on fighting and won't give up.
Tbh, the live-action movie captured their determination to carry on against the odds perfectly. By contrast, curing Roy's blindness in one scene doesn't really do justice to Roy and his spirit, as if becoming blind would ever keep him down for long.
For everyone who âused to love readingâ but now hasnât finished a book in years, you CAN get it back. Genuinely start bringing a book (preferably short and either fiction or a non fiction topic you already really enjoy) everywhere you go and when you have 5-20 mins waiting for the bus or at the doctors office or mechanic or whatever, get out your book and read it! You donât have to finish it quickly or even read it often but it is so good for your brain and fun to get into the habit of reading more (and replacing being on your phone for those moments). Source: I read 0 books in 2023 and Iâve read 12 in the first 4 months of 2026
âbits to use in everyday conversationsâ
yâall only like night shift because their flaws have been exclusively implied in very missable throw away lines (and towards people yâall donât sympathize with anyway).
ellis told trinity nobody gave a shit how tired, traumatized, or exhausted she was when trinity was on the fourteenth hour of her twelve hour shift. a season of that, to more universally sympathetic characters, will NOT be palatable to a lot of gen z. ellis doesnât care if junior residents are overworked, she doesnât coddle or encourage. she is a tough love, âput me in coach,â rub some dirt on it kind of person, and the gen z viewership will become overly critical of her life philosophy that demands a lot of grit.
shen is insensitive and detached. robby was wondering where his step son was, there was a mass casualty rolling in, and shen was relaxed enough to sip on his dunkin. he was bothering robby about if he could get thanksgiving and christmas off that year. shenâs blasĂ© attitude will start to grate on people as he extends that lack of fucks given to more patients and coworkers than just robby.
jack is not the woke guy everyone projects him to be. i believe they kept him far away from the ICE episode because the writers had no truly satisfying answer to how jackâs character would act in that situation. this man participated in imperialism for free college and healthcare (or for valor which is even worse). he continues to listen to police scanners and joins SWAT. he is on the side of the establishment as it relates to exerting force. he may have unpacked some conservative values, but there will be nuance there that will make black and white thinkers very uncomfortable.
the night shift doctors characterization is much less developed, but the seeds of complexity are there. ellis hates whining, shen is largely emotionally removed from any patient outcomes, jack is a mess of contradictions. people just canât pick up on that because they watch the show while scrolling through their phone.
you. donât. want. night. shift. you want to know less about the characters so you can continue to project your values onto them.
