This month marks 18 months of breastfeeding! 18 months! A year and a half 😳😳 I never imagined myself breastfeeding this long but now I can't see her weaning herself anytime soon and I'm ok with that, mostly 😂 I have gotten incredibly lucky and I have never had any supply issues but we have had our ups and downs. It was very painful for about the first 5 months because she had a tongue/lip tie. I remember crying often from the pain. After her surgery I had to re teach her how to latch on properly, then her teeth started coming in and as much as it was new to me, it was new to her so we had to learn how to breastfeed with teeth. We struggled with non stop nursing while we were co sleeping and it was hard on both of us so we learned how to sleep in our own beds for most of the night and co sleep in the mornings so we both don't go crazy 😂 I have wanted to give up many times, I have wanted my body back every time friends want to go have a night out but then I think about how I've been her nutrition and her comfort through sickness, growth spurts, sleepless nights, boo boos and so much more that I just hate the thought of making her stop and ending this bonding experience. Breastfeeding is hard and anyone that tells you otherwise is lying to you!
