👁️Welcome to the Waydrifters' Warren 🧭🐇
“The Nowhere swallows what forgets to move. Stay small. Stay sharp. The Waydrifters move on. The land bares its teeth and stains with blood. Children of the Elsewhere, follow the calling. Find your way.”
Who are the Waydrifters?
The Waydrifters are lost ones, nomadic Visitors within the Nowhere who have banded together. Those who have lived long enough to reach adulthood shelter and provide rest and security to the children still wayward within this realm. They cannot stay in one place for too long as taking root is forbidden, lest supplies dwindle with all the mouths to feed and bodies to warm; so they travel, roving across the Nowhere where they encounter the Nightmare Zones, picking and scraping for what they can with their paltry power. The nature of such places remains largely unknown to them, but what they do know is that such places draw upon the deepest fears of each Waydrifter, manifesting as a consequence of their pasts. They approach with caution and resilience, until they make it out into the Dream Zones; moments of respite and calm, where they usually settle to live their lives before they begin traveling anew once more.
Who is the leader?
There is no singular leader; instead, a band of the most experienced of the Waydrifters guide the others. They call them Hearths, those who keep the Warren warm, beating within like a living heart. The most notable of which is it's founder, Pura, alongside her however, are Mono, the Warren’s healer, Six, the guardian, and Low and Alone, who take the role of an explorer-cartographer duo alongside others yet to be introduced, with roles just as significant.
Who are the most prominent Waydrifters?
We follow Bug the Trader, Daisy the Wrangler, Patch the Assistant Undertaker, Seam the Weaver, and Tear the Diver.
Alongside them are Albedo the Outskirter, Miel the Chef, Name the Wild Card, Pura the Archivist, and Knell the Undertaker.
The Waydrifters stand tall, all of which have stories to tell, those they value, and dangers to soon encounter. All entwined — together, in ways they will soon discover in time.
