Crossover / Gym / Back Workout (x)
i’m sharing this everywhere because i love this dress! i fight my shape a lot (i just want to wear lots of big drapey baggy loose tops/sweaters and i know it;s unflattering but i LIKE IT) but times like these i embrace it (as does @stenka-razin but that’s like, literally)
we've started to go to the gym regularly so i'm probably going to use this more often again. In general I approach my workouts and plans as life enriching but I'm going to a gala in this dress next month and I have been doing some strength training to address my hip dips and arm tone!
we’re going to a charity gala in april and my dress came! when i took it out of the package I was super worried it wouldn’t even zip but it’s really comfortable! and will look even better with like, shapewear and maybe a bra? i took a big chance, but when you find the perfect Jill Stuart on ebay for $20 AND you have a reason to wear it? well thats fate
i tried really hard not to get impulsive at the apothecary but when moringa powder is RIGHT THERE i mean, I’m only human
flat stomachs really need to stop being a thing people expect from others like…….what the fuck do you mean i need a flat stomach when i have 7 meters of intestine in me
8 vegetables that you can regrow again and again.
Scallions
You can regrow scallions by leaving an inch attached to the roots and place them in a small glass with a little water in a well-lit room.
Garlic
When garlic begins to sprout, you can put them in a glass with a little water and grow garlic sprouts. The sprouts have a mild flavor than garlic and can be added to salads, pasta and other dishes.
Bok Choy
Bok choy can be regrown by placing the root end in water in a well-lit area. In 1-2 weeks , you can transplant it to a pot with soil and grow a full new head.
Carrots
Put carrot tops in a dish with a little water. Set the dish in a well-lit room or a window sill. You’ll have carrot tops to use in salads.
Basil
Put clippings from basil with 3 to 4-inch stems in a glass of water and place it in direct sunlight. When the roots are about 2 inches long, plant them in pots to and in time it will grow a full basil plant.
Celery
Cut off the base of the celery and place it in a saucer or shallow bowl of warm water in the sun. Leaves will begin to thicken and grow in the middle of the base, then transfer the celery to soil.
Romaine Lettuce
Put romaine lettuce stumps in a ½ inch of water. Re-water to keep water level at ½ inch. After a few days, roots and new leaves will appear and you can transplant it into soil.
Cilantro
The stems of cilantro will grown when placed in a glass of water. Once the roots are long enough, plant them in a pot in a well-lit room. You will have a full plant in a few months.
Get your infinite food exploit out of here you cheater. People like you ruin the survival horror experience.
Gym Recap: 10 x 4 crunches (55lb, machine) 5x4 hanging straight leg lifts 30 minutes ARC, moderate intensity
I really like going to the gym before work, even if I modify the intensity accordingly. It gives me a chance to clear my mind, then feel energized and accomplished before I even sit down to my computer. I’m aiming for a half and half split, even though I really dread evening gym time. Not the timing so much as how much more crowded it is. I’m lucky I have flexible hours so I don’t have to get up at 5am!
On the motivation end, I’ve been making “Have Done” lists. This helps me recognize my accomplishment, no matter how small, in the moment, as well as give me a nice recap in the evening so I don’t feel like I’ve wasted the full day. It also gives me something to compare to my daily and weekly to-do lists. What was I spending time on instead of my immediate goals, and how can I adjust? Was my rest time really restful or was I avoiding something, which will add to my stress?
I know daily and weekly to do lists sounds like a lot, but really I just keep a running tally of what needs done around the house/my life that I’m not able to get through in the current week, and that’s my following week. Instead of deciding a week in advance that I will clean for 3 hours on Wednesday (for example), I have a full 7 days to pick and choose. It gives me the freedom to structure my week according to what’s going on, while still staying on task for things that get lost along the way. My daily lists are always composed the morning of, not including any loft overs, instead of the night before, and are just a quick and dirty run down of what I expect of myself and limit to 5 bulletpoints. If it isn’t important enough to make the top five, it goes into the weekly list. If it isn’t important for today, but cannot wait a week, it takes up a point for the next day. I also have a larger monthly list but that’s just for house stuff and doesn’t really matter. Lists make my world make sense and I know that too many lists can be a hindrance, but this really keeps me on top of things and reminds me to slow down and take inventory, even if it’s just for a second to jot something down. The less time I spend getting my bearings, the more time I spend on the things that are important to me!
we moved into our house, i cut off all my hair, became a full time teetotal, started acupuncture therapy and have gotten Very Into the lazy genius podcast
