Plus- it’s just gotten a whole lot better now that you have rejoined me.”

“So you’re telling me it’s sad to wait until the end of the night, but not sad to stand, judge and whittle people down as they pass?” Wes commented with an amused look on his face. “I don’t buy it.” He added, “But I’ll play along, who’s made the shortlist so far?”

“Well shit, no one is going to want to be friends with us if we turn into boring old people. Maybe we should go out and rage or something.” Wes teased the other, looking to her with a slight hum, “So no action movies? Damn.”

Adeline moved to snuggle up against him, “You’ve never been boring to me,” She said with a contented sigh. She was more than happy to stay in with him. With everything that had happened recently and the reputation big events like this were getting, staying in with Wes sounded heavenly, “We could watch a movie?” She suggested, shifting her head from resting on his chest to look at him.

“Well that’s good, because now it’s confirmed that even if I do get boring, you may still find that I’m exciting. Which bodes really well for me.” He chuckled, yawning once again and nodding as he looked at the time. “A movie sounds like a good idea, what are you in the mood for?”

“When did I get so old-” Wesley yawned as he stretched on the sofa beside the other, “I’m sitting here like a grandpa wondering if I’m going to make it to midnight- so therefore I must be boring the hell out of you. I’m sorry.”

“Sorry, I should have been looking where I was going and-.. oh, hi.” Wes commented, finally looking up from his phone and seeing one of the elder Mulcibers standing in front of him. He recognised her of course, but he had no idea if she even knew who he was.

“I know I can find it-...” Wes commented, concentrating hard on the lights that covered the floor, trying to find the one bulb that had gone out causing havoc currently. “Or maybe we should just buy new lights-..” He grumbled, “It’s not like we can have a tree without them, they complete the look.”

“Do you think I should take Adeline away for the weekend, even if it’s just to London- I could get a hotel room or something.” Wes mused out loud to the dark haired girl, “She’s been through so much lately and honestly, I think it’d be good to get away from the Wizarding World completely, even if it’s just for a little while.”

Seb was very much trying to hold up a good front. He was happy his girlfriend was alive and for the most part unharmed but having been diagnosed with PTSD from his childhood trauma, which was triggered by his own attack a few months before, he was feeling what he liked to call the aftershock. Death Eaters had become a trigger because of all the bad they had done to his life even when they weren’t active. He was dealing mostly but there were a couple of incidents where he lashed out or had created a mess without meaning to. The latter was one such incident. He had been holding a tray of tools and zoned out for one moment as flashbacks of his childhood came back. One second he was being thrown down the stairs by his father and the next all the medical tools and the tray were on the floor, “Shit,” He cursed and bent down to pick them up. Those would have to be cleaned again. He looked up as someone approached, “Could you help me for a minute please?” He asked.

Wes had spotted the other and was about to come and see how he was doing, that was until he spotted the rather vacant look in his eyes all before the tray went crashing to the ground with a rather loud noise. “Sure.” He commented, helping the other pick up the equipment before looking to his friend. “Seb, are you okay? Do you think you should maybe take a break for ten?”

“Sure.” Wesley commented, rolling his eyes at his brother. “Whatever you have to tell yourself in order to make you feel better. But you could at least share.”

Adeline laughed and had a smile on her face up until Wesley spoke again, “What is it?” She moved quickly to take the parchment off him before he could stop her. Her eyes scanned the page but when she hit the middle - one name in particular, “Perseus…” Her hands started to shake. After a moment, the parchment was on the floor and Adeline could feel her knees buckle beneath her, “Oh my god…”

Wesley was starting to lose track of the hours they had spent at the hospital, at this point he was simply working on routine. Check on Adeline, made sure she was drinking enough water, eating at least something and getting some sleep. He would drag her home to make sure she got some proper rest in the promise of waking her up if there was any news and then it would start all over again. “I think you’ve walked to China and back now.” He joked lightly, trying to give her some reprieve from the tension that was surrounding them, “I think you could take a break from trying to walk the circumference of the world through pacing and come and sit- here, I even have tea.”

“I like it, Fred and Daphne are so overplayed after all.” Wes teased before hearing a tapping at the window, seeing the owl there he moved to go and receive the parchment, frowning when he saw what was on there. “Adeline-.. something’s happened.”
