"Ah-- Nimbasa?" Touya tilted his head slightly, blinking at the other. "It's just down Route 4; do you want some help getting there?"

Exhaustion || Hikari & Touya

The day had been long-- full of nothing but walking and getting absolutely nowhere. Though these sort of days were not unusual for Touya, he was never particularly fond of them. They would always end with the trainer dragging his feet along the path he tread with heavy eyelids and a growling stomach. With the sky already being dyed shades of orange and pink, the only thing on his mind was finding a place to stay for the night.

"Ahh... Serperior, I'm tired," the boy whined. Serperior huffed slightly in response, nudging its trainer gently as if to offer a form of support. Touya glanced upwards, then, and noticed that he was soon to pass by a bench on the edge of the path. Despite being anxious to find a hotel, the bench just seemed so inviting to his tired legs and it didn't take much for him to decide on resting for just a moment before continuing to the next town-- of which hopefully was not too far away at this point.

Straightening his stance a bit, Touya turned to go and sit down, seeing then that the bench was already occupied by someone. But in his exhausted state this did little to bother him, and he continued on-- maybe they could even help him make it to his next destination.

With an exasperated sigh, the boy spun around with the intention of sitting-- but unfortunately in his state he took a misstep and his frame came crashing down instead.

"Wha--!" Touya could practically feel his heart jump out of chest as he hit the ground, his eyes flying open and a gasp escaping his lungs. His hat-- which must have flown off his head when he fell-- landed next to him and ensued a short moment of silence before Serperior began to snicker in amusement. The boy glared up at the creature, giving a huff; his next move being to pick up his fallen hat and dust it off.

Caught in the Rain || Castiel & Touya

He hadn't checked the weather that morning-- it was something he often did as he ate breakfast in the lobby of whatever hotel he happened to be staying in at the time, but it had become such a mindless habit of his that it easily slipped his mind every now and then.

Consequently, it took him much by surprise when he heard the pitter-patter of rain drops colliding with the brim of his hat. Blinking a couple of times in surprise, he halted in his movements and glanced up at the sky. Grey clouds were moving in from every direction-- how had they all snuck past him so easily?

"... This is a problem," he muttered, causing Serperior to tilt its head beside him. The pokemon didn't seem nearly as disgruntled as its trainer-- water did little to bother it as a grass creature, after all. It merely stood there as the rain gradually grew denser, waiting for Touya to make a move.

It took a drop falling upon his nose to shake him from his stupor, and a look caught between shock and panic crossed his face. "I have to find shelter--!" On that note, the trainer scrambled forward, only to stumble to a stop mere paces later when he noticed the structure standing right in front of him. "Ahh--"

Wasting not another moment to allow the rain to grow stronger, he ran up to the front door and let himself in, Serperior following close after. Giving a small sigh of relief as he entered the place, Touya removed his hat and shook his head a few times before finally shifting his glance upward to take a look around.

Seeing that the stranger was fine, she smiled brightly. He didn’t seem very bothered by how loud she had been. What a nice guy for letting it slide.

"Oh? Yeah, I am!" Dawn nodded at him. "I’m playing a game of Hide and Seek with my team… Still haven’t found my Togekiss. He’s gotten really good at this game." Glancing around, she then noticed that the boy had a companion with him, one that wasn’t very happy with her being there.

"Dude, that’s a cool-looking Pokemon!" She spoke cheerfully, and admired the grass-type. There wasn’t much she knew about Pokemon from other regions, but the trainer knew a grass-type when she saw one! And if it wasn’t, that’d be really embarrassing and awkward.

What a regal Pokemon and it was not to be messed with from the looks of it. She figured that the two must have been really close if they were hanging out. Still, such a Pokemon gave an air of being hard to get friendly with… Just what kind of guy was he?

Remembering about the game she had been playing, Dawn searched with her eyes. Occasionally, she’d glance back at the grass-type.

"A Togekiss?" He had never seen one before and immediately found himself glancing around in curiosity to see if he could easily spot the Pokemon. Just how big were they? And what exactly did they look like again? Well, his own little search wasn't starting off all that great, so he just turned back to the girl beside him. A smile was able to form on his face now that his nerves had a chance to calm down from the earlier startlement. This person seemed friendly enough.

"Thank you!" he responded next, assuming that the girl was talking about his companion. "This is-- uh..." He had turned around to introduce the creature and noticed the deadly glare it had on its face. Honestly, the creature could try to be just a bit less overbearing at times, couldn't it? And Touya couldn't help but see that the other kept stealing glances at his companion-- was it making her nervous?

"... This is Serperior. Sorry about him... he gets a little cranky when he's woken up suddenly." It should have been more surprising that Serperior could even fall asleep that fast, but it had happened before. "But anyway-- did your Togekiss come this way?"

Bel crossed her arms in front of her chest. “And just where would we start, hm? The computer can easily find one as long as we have some idea, have some faith in me for once!” Perhaps that last part wasn’t necessary and was said by accident, but she felt like time played back to when labels were put upon her. “…I’m sorry.”

"Er..." Oh, he felt bad now. In all his earlier panic he hadn't stopped to think about how irrationally he was acting. Had he really upset his friend without realizing it? Well, at the very least, he wasn't freaking out anymore. "N-no, I'm sorry, Bel... Heh, you're right. It should be easy to find!"

"Lax nature, hm…." Again, the blonde flipped through the pages, emerald irises scanning the chart before finally pinpointing on the answer. "Aha! It says here that Pokémon with that nature enjoy sour tasting berries and dislike bitter ones." It made her think of Lillipup disliking a certain taste but the Grass-type liking it to some extent. "Oh but there is a bit of an issue. I don’t think you can just make the same type of poffin and everyone with that nature would like it. I suppose when it comes down to species, similar ones can have a type that they like." Bel made a mental not to read up more on these.

Her eyes lit up at his question and promptly answered, “They’re amazing on the television! There are two segments to them. There are a couple of different kinds, but from what I’ve learned you choose from different types of categories to compete in to appeal to the audience with moves and routines. Then it happens again but with other Pokemon on stage.” She takes a deep breathe after the long explanation. “So in other words, it’s quite strategic.”

"This seems a lot more complicated than I thought..." Maybe the best course of action would just be to give every kind of flavor to different Pokemon and see which ones they liked? But that could make some of them mad... This could take awhile to figure out.

Though he was distracted for the moment from the change of subject, and he smiled as he looked up to her. "That sounds pretty cool! So are there a lot trainers that enter these? Oh, so that would make it more of a show-off sort of thing...?" Contests sure sounded interesting, even from such limited information. Maybe he would try to enter one someday if he was ever given the chance. It could be fun and a nice change of pace to what he and Serperior normally did.
