i’m considering studying education in australia, i’ve heard all the headlines about teachers working very long hours for too little pay, and the stat about 25% of teachers leaving the profession in the first five years etc, but i also think it would be a privilege to work with children, and be a positive influence in their lives, does anyone have any nuggets of advice or warning?

One thing that I continue to discover every day is how difficult it can be to truly, truly love my enemies. My duty is to no man but Christ, and for that reason my duty is to every man. Even the ones who think the worst of me, who want me to die or be hurt, the ones who hate me: I have to love them too -- no, I have to love them more every single time I remember that. Being Christian is not a one-and-done experience. It is a choice, every single day, to love radically. Every day I am challenged on my ability to love. Every day I will come closer to that goal through the power of God.
