She disappears on nights with a full moon, and describes bizarre dreams th le following morning

I think she has some kind of feud with the ocean. She’ll stand at the water’s edge and laugh as the oncoming waves split to avoid touching her.

She’s constantly smoking. Not like she always has a cigarette on hand, she can’t stand the stuff. It just kind of comes off her skin. Most of the time it’s pretty wispy and sometimes unnoticeable, but when she gets angry it billows.

There’s a black, featureless hole where his face would be. Somehow I can still tell he smiles when he looks at me.

She’s got way too many teeth but I still love her

He’s not terribly shy, but he does need to be reminded not to camouflage with his surroundings. Its too easy for him to just disappear, even in the middle of a conversation. Then again the look of surprise on our friends’s faces when he chimes in is pretty priceless.

One of her mouths -- the one between her shoulder blades -- I think it has its own consciousness, but I’m not sure. It doesn’t eat or drink, really, but it has rows of sharp teeth and a long tongue. Most of the time she keeps it closed, but sometimes she can’t keep it from singing. The sound it produces is almost imperceptible, like a high-pitched warbling sound, but it creates the strangest reaction. After it sings its song, there’s a response -- from who or what, I don’t know, but it always comes from above and sounds like a chorus of humming and strings and falsetto tones. She claims it’s the music of the spheres, the stars themselves.

She has too many mouths to feed.

She’s always at the back of the room away from the gaze of others. She sits at the back of the class, though I don’t think she’s even in this course. She’s at the back of the coffee shop but never gets up to order. She’s at the back of my closet wearing my hoodie. She’s at the back of my mind whispering things I can’t understand, but make my heart skip.

After weeks of finding teeth littering my windowsill, I decide to stake the night out, baseball bat and crank-powered flashlight in hand. I follow the trail of half-eaten birds into the woods until I trip and hit my head, spilling blood upon the waiting altar as the final sacrament needed for her summoning.

She looks like if a whirlwind animated whatever broken twigs and various animal bones where nearby, and her voice sounds like rocks scraping together in their best attemp to sound sing-songy, but goddammit she’s perfect and I will fight you.

He only haunts rented rooms or apartments. He doesn’t want to commit to a real house just yet.

I like that I can hold his hand even when he’s not around.

There’s a moth that lives in her skull. I can see it fluttering around in the light behind her eyes.

Her heart has fangs. I can hear it gnashing if I hold my ear to her chest.

He rotates a fresh pair of eyes about once a week, after they dry out or stop working. Sometimes they’re a different color like blue or green, sometimes they have different pupils, like a cat’s or goat’s. I’m not sure where the discarded ones go, they just kind of recede into his skull and a new pair comes in.

Every morning she wakes up with new bite marks on her arms and blood on her chin
