The True Knot

The True Knot are a group of quasi-immortal "vampires" who employ torture to feed on the life force, known to them as "steam," of children who are gifted with the Shining. They are an unknowably old group, and there were at one point so many of them that there were many splinter groups — hence their being the "True" Knot.  THE BECOMING

The True Knot only consume the steam of children with The Shine, but if an adult with The Shine has a unique ability they find desirable, they will attempt to recruit and "turn" them.

The True Knot does not feed from adult as it would be akin to eating bad meat from an old cow. Those wo refuse often have their memories wiped and their powers consumed.

Once agreed upon the current member of the group gather around and begin to call and response in a chant. A contain filled with Steam ( Aquired Shine ) is opened and the potential recruit is than instructed to inhale and consume it. At this point, the process becomes exceedingly painful, as the would be vampire beings to die though who can not hold onto themselves onto their own power fade away seemingly becoming steam themselves.

Those that survive become a member of the True Knot and psychic vampires. The process is complete and the newly turned true knot is fed.

The Shine

What is the Shine ? The question has come up quiet often and it is in fact that special ability within us. Some of us are born with it and some of us wake up to it later in life. All children possess a sliver of it some are stronger than others it is a curiosity that usually it fades away by adulthood. Some have a near death experience and it opens them again and their shine sparks back into a flame. Sometimes its a traumatic happening and some have even reported a spiritual one.

There are many forms of shine
