My Top 5 Film Soundtracks

Here are my favourite songs from film soundtracks. The best scores in a film soundtrack are the ones that capture the emotion of the scene and affect the audience with that emotion, whether that be suspense, empowerment or sadness. Here are my favourite film scores with the videos of the music in their scenes.

Top Emotional Film Scenes

Hachi (Lasse Hallström, 2009) - Still Waiting Scene

The story of the bond between a man and his dog. His owner dies whilst at work and his dog Hachi waits for his at the train station everyday to come home. This scene and whole film was heartbreaking (especially for dog lovers like myself), but such a beautiful and emotional true story.

The Green Mile (1999, Frank Darabont) - Electric Chair Scene

Based on the Stephen King novel, a man is sent to death row who has spectacular magical talents. This is a classic tearjerker scene, even after all these years still makes me shed a tear no matter how many times i watch it. 

Captain Phillips (2013, Paul Greengrass) - The Ending scene

C’mon who doesn’t love Tom Hanks? Based on the true story of a captain who gets hijacked and captured by Somali pirates. The ending to this film shows the raw talent of Hanks emotional performance as he is being rescued.

The Lovely Bones (2009, Peter Jackson) - The Ending scene

Susie is killed as a child and becomes stuck in limbo, between the living and the afterlife. This scene shows Susie being welcomed to the afterlife by other victims. Accompanied with this solumn soundtrack, this scene is certainly emotional to say the least.
