volchonok-dolohov:
How could he be the one who was being stupid? Did she really only think that all death eaters only aquainted themselves with other death eaters? It was true for some of their rank but certainly not all. He didn’t even get along with half of their lot. Antonin lowered his voice ever more, “So do you make a habit out of sleeping with people you don’t trust?” Antonin knew how much the whole fact that he was a death eater upsetted his sister so he wasn’t very willing to delve too much in the topic lest she overhear. He followed Wendy’s glance to Anushka who was watching them quietly and instead busied himself with his meal once again.
Antonin froze, his jaw set as he followed the path of Wendy’s hand. Her fingers so tightly wound through Mikhails. Their exchange was not lost on him. He didn’t know what game she was playing at, what her intentions with his friend were. He found it ever more difficult to concentrate when Mikhail directed the conversation to Antonin, asking him about work, discussing the latest in quidditch. Antonin exercised as much self control as he could, decidedly ignoring Wendy and her small hand still engulfed by Mikhail’s. He told himself that It wasn’t Wendy that he cared about, he just couldn’t believe she had pure intentions with his oldest friend.
.
Wendy did not think she was being stupid. She saw all the elite purebloods hang out with each other, the ones who shunned her father’s family when he married her mother, the ones who all looked down on anyone of ‘lesser’ blood. They interacted and it was the shock that hit the hardest of Mikha knowing Antonin. Sweet, kind, caring Mikha knowing cruel, intense, stalking Antonin. It made no sense to her and of course she had to ask him in a hissed whisper to make sure. But... no it made no sense. Mikha knew her blood, knew her father and he was only interested in her and her father. He couldn’t be a Death Eater. Still, how was he even friends with Antonin? When he whispered at her, she recoiled for a second, hating him for daring to bring up their hookup here of all places. “No, unlike you I actually intended to sleep with him.” She hissed back.
As Wendy reached for Mikha’s hand, she only wanted to calm and center herself. She now felt too exposed in the fancy gown she wore, she felt too on display with two unknown strangers who were family now and one was a Death Eater who wouldn’t leave her alone. She caught sight of Antonin watching her hand and she frowned at him, holding Mikha’s hand tighter. Their food started to arrive and Mikha let one hand drop under the table, squeezing Wendy’s leg gently and she rested her hand on top of his. Let Antonin glare, she hated him being here anyway. Might as well make him suffer. Let him see that she was close with his friend! Mikha was a good guy, and she truly did enjoy his company. But this night was turning out like nothing she had expected, not the fancy, romantic night she thought when Mikha invited her.
volchonok-dolohov:
Antonin searched within Wendy’s eyes for a hint of anything that he couldn’t trust but he didn’t find anything. She was just as confused by this whole thing as he was. Her words however, were a slap to the face. The disgust, he suposed he probably should have expected it from her kind. He showed no signs of any hurt however and instead scoffed, a smirk on his lips. “Don’t be stupid, you don’t honestly think Mikha has the abilities…?” Antonin said, a single brow raising as if he dared her to speak otherwise. Perhaps she didn’t know Mikhail as well as he had first perceived, for Mikha, despite his quick mind would be a terrible death eater. Far too soft and unruined.
Antonin shook his head, returning back to his meal, he was determined to get through this dinner as quickly as he could, present company included. He had been determined to get Wendy out of his head and sure this was a slight spanner in the works, but he’d finish his dinner, excuse himself from dinner and be on his way as soon as he could. Then he could get back to actively ignoring the witch.
.
Even if they both had attended the same school, Wendy never thought they would have known each other or even that they would have been friends! Mikha was the complete opposite of Antonin. He was sweet, interesting, intelligent, such a good shag and he was interested in her and her father’s work! Antonin was gruff and he irritated her like no one else, a good shag as well, he was a Death Eater and stood for everything that hated Wendy simply due to her blood. As soon as he snorted and laughed at her, Wendy did indeed feel stupid. There was no way Mikha could be one, he was far too sweet. He knew of Wendy’s parents and had only shown interest in her father’s work. He was sweet, kind, caring for others! All things a Death Eater could never be!
Wendy glared at Antonin and made a face at him. “Don’t be so bloody stupid. I have every right to distrust you all.” She hissed at him and sat up straight again, leaning away. She caught Antonin’s sister staring at them and suddenly felt he fear all over again. Could she...? She could be a Death Eater too, right? But... Mikha wouldn’t invite two Death Eaters to dinner, would he? She reached for his hand in fear, squeezing a little and tried to smile back when he shot her one of the warmest smiles ever. But this dinner was nothing like he had probably planned.

sevrustobias:
“Ah.” He nodded slowly, not quite sure what to say. Your new relationship. It was still strange to hear, when in conjunction with himself. He wasn’t one for relationships - and this was why. They had only been together for what felt like five minutes, and it had already completely blown up in his face. But apparently, Wendy didn’t know that. Just when had she talked to Daisy? “Thank you.” His words were rather stiff, but it was the best he could do for the moment, and better than most would get from him.
He swallowed, scooting even further to offer her room enough to stay a decent length from him if it made her more comfortable. Crossing one leg over the other, he took a long drink of his coffee before answering. “Do I dare ask just what she told you?” Severus asked, voice low and more casual than he currently felt. Did he really even want to know? He raised his eyes to hers, managing to keep his expression fairly open and neutral. He wanted to like Wendy, after all, the least he could give her was an honest chance.
The holidays were quite busy and though Wendy had just seen Daisy the other day, there was still enough time for things to develop without her finding out. When she last spoke to Daisy, she was still still in a relationship with Severus. When Wendy spoke of their relationship, she spoke of them together in a manner that she did not approve of. Her best friend was dating a Death Eater! Even if Daisy swore that Severus was not involved in the attacks on muggles during the holidays, she knew that no good person could still be involved with them. If he was as good as Daisy swore him to be, he would not be involved with a group like them.
He may be stiff in his responses, but perhaps he was not blind to her own tension and he moved even further down on the bench for her. Wendy took another beat to decide before she joined him on the complete other side. He must know how close she was to Daisy. “She told me you are dating.” Wendy responded and looked away. She did not wish to hate or be rude to who her best friend was dating, but this was surely testing her. “She told me you are a Death Eater.” Her words were cold to show how she clearly felt.

The small moan that fell from her lips sent a shiver down his spine and he swallowed, mouth suddenly dry. It only spurned him on, the pub all of a sudden feeling a few degrees hotter than it had just a moment before. Her hand was soft in his, yet it sent sparks of anticipation along his arms, and he realized there was no turning back now - so it was a good thing he didn’t want to. Full steam ahead, always, and especially into things that may cause trouble for him in the future. That was half the fun, wasn’t it? And fully a potential problem for his future self, so he wasn’t about to start worrying about it now. When they got outside, he turned back to her, but kept his hand wrapped around hers.
He gave her fingers a light squeeze, his eyes shining in the dull light of the street lamp behind the bar. “Your place or mine?” He breathed, anxious to get out of there.
Wendy was already thinking of all that was to come. She moaned in as much anticipation as she did from the desire she could feel from his lips. She was not thinking to tell him that this was all for simply for fun and nothing serious would come of it. That was a conversation that could wait until later if his reputation was in fact a wrong one. The amusement and lust was mixed as evenly in his own gaze when they pulled back and Wendy chuckled before capturing his lips once more in a kiss. Her hand slipped into his black hair and how her fingers curled to bring him closer. Wendy bit his bottom lip when she pulled away to speak of the promises of what was to come.
She felt at ease when he took a hold of her fingers to squeeze. How bright her eyes shone in the reflection in anticipation! “How about mine?” She suggested and brought him closer in preparation for apparating there.

Antonin had known. It was silly to get so worked up when he had known. He’d seen Mikhail first approach Wendy that night, hell, he had seen that look in his eyes the moment he’d laid eyes on her all those months ago. Perhaps it was the fact that they had kept in touch, that neither had mentioned the other as if they were each other’s secret. Why had Mikhail thought it a good idea to invite her here? And all of this under the clever, watchful eyes of his sister. All these thoughts were driving him crazy. Wendy had always been his to torment, he’d never mentioned a word of her to anyone. Not Mikhail, not Rodolphus, none of them. And was Wendy seeing Mikha? Seeing Mikha and still having one night stands with supposed enemies? For some reason he didn’t want to spend too much energy delving into, he knew that everything would have to change if anyone from his real life found out about her, especially now that they’d crossed some sort of a line.
He’d missed the swift kick at Anoushka, it was perhaps why his devilish sister only grinned at Wendy’s response. Antonin however, had his eyes firmly locked with Wendy. He found that his eyes drifted so often to her mouth when she spoke, now that he knew the things that she could do with it. Somehow it naturally came to be that Mikhail leaned over the table to engage Anoush in animated conversation. The two were now deep in the intricacies of Anoushka’s internship at the Russian magical kremlin. Antonin waited until the other two were deep in conversation when he leaned over, “Did you know that I’d be here?” he asked in a whisper. There were several reasons as to why he felt that he needed to know. Just how close was Wendy to his friend? What were her intentions in coming? Was this some kind of payback?
They were far too alike. Both were spiraling into their own dark thoughts of what sort of dinner they had agreed to come to. It was almost ironic that both were questioning the other and thinking only of distrust and lies being here sitting next to the other at the table. Wendy found herself unable to read Antonin’s sister’s amused smirk. What was she thinking of? Though, perhaps the biggest question was if Anoushka and Mikhail were both associated with the Death Eaters. Had she been so terribly stupid telling Mikhail personal things about her family? Was this why she had managed to move up on the list promoting her as a danger to the ministry and caused Antonin to follow her for his job? How bloody stupid did she have to be to end up sleeping with two different Death Eaters? Wendy shifted away from Mikhail slowly now that their whole relationship was thrown into such a hurtful sense of doubt.
Had she been stupid for not knowing Antonin and Mikhail knew each other? Perhaps, but simply going to the same school did not mean they were associated at all. She had not seen Antonin the entire time she spent with Mikhail at the world cup. After those days she thought it was terribly safe to assume they were not friends. Yet here he was. The conversation became a buzzing her ears as Wendy spiraled in her own thoughts and could feel herself slipping. What was this dinner? She was only pulled from her thoughts when Antonin leaned closer. Merlin. She could smell that sharp, spicy scent that always seemed to cling to him. It took all of her strength to not let her thoughts go back to his apartment and that fateful night. Yet, in the time she had come to know him it became a little easier to read some of his emotions. He was surprised. His question and the look in his dark eyes was enough to spell it out clearly. He was not expecting her at this dinner. Wendy pulled back in surprise herself and blinked to recover. Slowly she leaned closer so she could speak to him in a quiet voice. “No. I didn’t know you knew each other.” Wendy admitted and could feel herself on the verge of tears. This was all so terribly confusing and frustrating! What was going on? “Is he -” She broke off and swallowed the rising bile in her throat. “Is he, you know?” She inquired, pointing to her arm where the Death Eater tattoo usually resided on others.

uncommcnlyxkind:
Festival of Lights OPEN
It had been the longest month of Lily’s life. Funeral plans. An empty holiday season, filled with nothing but long nights sitting in bed, staring blankly at the wall in front of her. Dumbledore had taken to ignoring her insistence that she was fine, a lie that had been said enough that even Lily was starting to hear the complete shit of the words. Take some time off. Grieve. A month at home, unallowed near St. Mungo’s or any missions as a distraction was about the most frustrating bit of it all. Nothing to do but sit in her agony, not even able to go home.
In all truth, Lily wasn’t positive she was ready to return to her life, but she couldn’t keep sitting at home. If nothing else, at least being surrounded by lights would be a distraction, and Merlin only knew how badly she needed that. Crookshanks had all but chased her out the door, and now that she was there, Lily felt sorely out of place. “It’s beautiful,” she breathed, a tired smile on her face as she took in the lights closest her. “Hopefully this means we can start the year on a high note.” Hells, it sounded weak even to her, but the hope that if maybe she kept up the appearance of optimism it would eventually come back to her.
Wendy felt nothing but unsettled. There was of course still the issue of Antonin Dolohov who seemed to haunt her at every turn. Their relation had been tense and confused before, but since she had so stupidly slept with him, it now seemed to reach a new high of tension. Then, of course there was Daisy. Her best friend was in a relationship with a Death Eater. Daisy who was quite possibly the sweetest person alive. To think she would still forgive Severus of his loyalties and stay in a relationship with him. Though Wendy might not approve she would never fully take Daisy away from the relationship. Instead, she would stay by Daisy and keep an eye out on Severus for she did not trust him at all.
When she had arrived with Daisy, soon she fell apart with Severus and Wendy had no desire to act as a third wheel to them. She tugged her scarf tighter around her, squeezed Daisy’s hand and informed her she would catch up with her later. It was only when she was in line for hot chocolate that she saw Lily. How quickly Wendy latched on to her and hoped they could spend the night together so that she would not be so alone! “It really is.” Wendy loved the holiday season, the brightness usually lifted her spirits to no end. Yet, this year seemed to leave such a dark cloud hovering over her, from the growing threat of the Death Eaters, Rodolphus’ attack, Antonin, the growing danger towards her family, and now Daisy. “I hope so. I would say the only way to go is up, but I don’t want to jinx anything.” Wendy hoped she didn’t sound too cynical.
Fact of the matter is… you are just a pretty face.
