Well, there was a voice, so he could assume that whoever that other shadow was, he wasnât another monster. Good. Ryou popped the cap off of the bottle of paint thinner, internally bemoaning the loss of art and quietly hoping that somehow, it would fix itself up after all this was over.
âYou over there, stay back- I know how to deal with these, but you really donât want to get paint thinner on you.â
The other figure didnât seem close enough, at least. Once the paint monster was near enough to him to attack he quickly splashed it with the thinner, managing to not use an entire bottle in the process. That was good, these bottles were hard to come by. It was only once the monster had melted down that Ryou let out a sigh of relief, walking over to the rather panicked-looking man.
âHe looks like heâd keel over at the slightest breeze at this point.â
âThatâs not nice, spirit.â
âDonât care. Hey, I wonder if heâll pass out when he notices Dark Necrofear?â
Resisting the urge to roll his eyes at the ghost currently haunting him, Ryou turned to look at the doll still standing on his shoulder. She certainly looked⊠haunted, for lack of a better word, but she was being quite polite. Hopefully the man either wouldnât notice, or wouldnât mind.
âAre you alright? Iâm sorry if Iâd frightened you before.â Ryou wouldnât blame the other if he mistook him for a ghost- it wouldnât be the first time someone had made that comparison, thanks to his hair.
âP-Paint thinner...?â
Rosho didnât need to take the time to wonder what that meant. The stranger before him splashed a nearby monster with said thinner, and Rosho watched in surprise as it melted, as if splashed with powerful acid.
A wave of relief washed over him, and he let out a long sigh. That was one less of those things to deal with...
Straightening himself up, Rosho stepped closer to get a look at the person heâd come across. He seemed about the age of his students. That did help him to relax a bit... or it would have, if not for the strange doll on his shoulder. It wasnât doing much of anything, so Rosho assumed it was safe, but...
âOh, ah... No need to apologize. Iâm-- Iâm just on edge, I suppose.â He looked about him as he spoke, as if expecting another monster to pop out at any minute. His gaze wandered to the spot where the monster had melted.
â...You were able to defeat it, yes? With the paint thinner...? I tried to take on one that came after me earlier, but punching it didnât seem to do much at all...â Tried to take on was a bit of a generous description, considering Rosho had just screamed and punched the thing the moment it had lunged at him, but there was no need to go into those details.
