There's no real reason for you to trust me.
But if you care about the content in your tumblr, listen to me when I tell you it's important you backup your shit and export it. Like now. Today, if you can. I'm here right now doing that for myself. I wrote some stuff here that I want to keep.
This is a gift of crucial information from me to you, for free.
Let it never be said I didn't do a nice thing for you.
Peace, pervs. ☮️❤️
Well, this doesn’t suck. 😊
Remember the good old days of Tumblr when you would come on and always have someone to talk to? When it was fun and you and your tribe would just laugh and end up in Tumblr Jail every night?
This is not an invite. Just an observation.
This place is no longer fun.
It's a headache.
Sadly, too true. The sense of community has evaporated
Ads (which I understand, but sweet fancy crackers I’d have paid good money to make those go away years ago, why’d they wait so damn long?), garbage algo, shoving posts into my feed that I didn’t ask for, following and unfollowing for me - it turned into a chore rather than a delight.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Who knows about Sally Hemings?
She was Thomas Jefferson's slave.
Called his "mistress," but how can you be a mistress when you were a slave, a child, and could not consent? Had absolutely no choice?
She bore him 6, perhaps as many as 8 children. He kept her locked in a basement room.
The room was recently unearthed, and DNA evidence has proven the lineage of Sally's children.
She was beteeen 12 and 14 years old when he started raping her, and Jefferson was in his forties. He freed the children that he had with her, but not Sally. Her daughter had to free her mother after Jefferson passed away.
This is not taught in schools. This side of history. We are supposed to consider the founding fathers as great men, fighting for justice and freedom, guided by God... when they are evil men. Selfish men who did nothing, save that it was for their own aggrandisement, personal benefit, and financial gain.
I would also like to add that Sally was Jefferson's dead wife's half sister. Sally's mother was raped by her owner, who was Martha (wife of Thomas) Jefferson's father.
These people left a legacy.
A legacy of entitlement under the most criminal of circumstances, and White Supremacist beliefs which pervade U.S. Society and Culture, to this very day.
Got a new jean jacket. 😉
The struggle is so fucking real. 🤣
tumblr sucked yet its the only thing people like us could ever have posted on. tumblr was a deep sea geothermal vent and we are all pallid, desperate crabs snapping at the dark toxcic nutrients spweing from its hole, and bringing us into the harsh light of the instagram influencersphere would kill us instantly.
I study hydrothermal vents and I endorse this metaphor, especially the way it implicitly makes Yahoo a deep-sea mining company that doesn’t understand the role of vent fauna in the ocean ecosystem
Infuriating
I just tried to search my own archive for something I’ve written, and can’t.
That’s just bullshit. I can’t add an avi, and I can’t find my own content? Fuck you, tumblr.
All my best for the coming year, tumby. 💋
It’s getting to be chilly; time for sweater weather. 😉
Oh hello.
How are you all?
Thought I’d pop in and say hi.
Usually I have a look through my notifications and read comments attached to reblogs or posts I’m tagged in, but now every time I do that I get a ‘this tumblr may contain sensitive context’ warning (ha! well I hope so!) and once I get rid of that I don’t get the post I want; it’s just the blog’s most recent post.
Grrr
Anyway. Enough griping. How’s you? Tell me something good.
Do you see her?
The mature woman you think is attractive, has her life together, is accomplished, and comes with the added bonus of purchase: she’s submissive. Jackpot, right? Well, yeah. But let’s unpack that a little.
Look at her.
She is, perhaps, married, or was. She may have children and no help at home, or survived the child rearing and is now looking to new stages in her life. She may have an ex whose sole purpose in life is to score points off her, she may have aging family to care for. Daily, she keeps several plates spinning at the top of tall reeds, and you better believe keeping those things spinning isn’t really an act of choice for her. If she lets them fall, they shatter spectacularly, people look and gawk and judge her harshly for her failures.
Look at her.
She is in control at all times, because there are no choices. No alternatives for her, not until those delicious few hours when someone places a collar around her neck and leads her to sanctuary. Until someone ensures that it’s okay to leave the reeds, the plates will spin on, awaiting her return. She revels in the mindlessness of no expectation other than acquiescence, the quietude of simply existing. That is her respite, her renewal. And if, during renewal, she might feel pleasure, so much the better. So much sweeter those achievements, those moments, those peaks. She knows to value each one.
Look at her.
She is, perhaps, a professional of some sort. She might manage people, or create things. Could be she is a force to be reckoned with, meeting deadlines and keeping the ship in its lane. Without question, she has been fighting her entire life for the same recognition you take for granted. She manages her life quite handily, and largely prefers it that way, save for the moments that she would like to put all of it down, to step away. She revels in not being the steward of lives and lifestyles, if only for a short time, entrusted only to the one person she can surrender herself and her stewardship. She looked long and hard for that person, and if that one is you, take note.
Look at her.
Careful, careful thought has gone into the placing down of those burdens. She has weighed the imperatives that others place upon her against her instinct to succumb to the siren call of tranquility. She has calculated, and considered, and decided. There is a deliberateness to the action of transferring power. The reward meets the risk, and she is equal to the task. You are her partner in the exchange, and she has faith in your strength and trusteeship.
Look at her.
She has bent for you. Knelt, bent, allowed herself to be arranged, raised pink and tender places for your inspection and attention and your tools and implements. She has chosen the fluid exchange of energy, gathering strength from her suffering for you, taking your darkness into her, committing her flesh to the healing of both cell and spirit. She allows, she chooses, she commits. Her will unleashes your own and in turn your will keeps hers secure.
Look at her.
Struggle with the deviation from societal norms has left her vulnerable. She has sought out a place to give away, if only for a short while, her body, her conscious mind, perhaps even a portion of her soul. With the shedding of her clothing, that nakedness runs deeper than the flesh. When she is wrapped in blankets and forehead kisses or later slipping into street clothing, she is quietly donning the protective garments of her every day.
Look at her. Isn’t she fine?
Well, this went over 5000 notes sometime in the last few days, which just boggles my mind.
Every once in a while I log in here, and see the notifications, scrolling scrolling down. Every so often I’ll see something appended to it, notes between lovers, someone longing to be seen, finally, for who she is, a kind observance of the writing.
I want you to know I’ve read every one.
I don’t answer them all because I realize that it really isn’t about me as an individual, the conversation is more broad, more global, more to all of us as citizens of the universe. I don’t think people really contemplate that there’s an actual person reading their comments, and I don’t wish to startle anyone by proving that it’s so.
But I am here, intermittently, and I am reading, and I’m just full to bursting with amity and love, and hope in my heart for all of you. Life in general isn’t easy, this lifestyle in particular even more so, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
I hope you’re happy, and safe, and warm, and loved.
I see you, and you are fine.
I need something new.
Not rescued, not recycled, not renewed.
Something completely, entirely new.

As anyone who has loved another knows, their plight is your plight. Their pain is your pain, and their trials are ones you rush to support them through. And their successes fill your heart with excitement, laughter, pride.
It’s been quite a few years now, that secretdaddy and I have cared about each other. His plight, pain, trials and success are ones that I feel, keenly. In balancing privacy, I haven’t said very much here, and have spoken to people that have inquired directly with more specificity, but respecting his wish to remain circumspect.
All the health issues aside, I hated that his blog was hacked. Hated. It was a very real connection to this strange and wonderful little community of pervs and weirdos and wonderful people and the hacking severed that connection. He hadn’t the inner strength to fight it off. It made me sad; all the followers, all the archives. The music. The advice. The evidence of who he is; incisive, interesting, caring, human. All lost. And in a way I think it made his world just that much smaller, losing all of you.
I hope that hacker’s groin is infested with fire ants.
Today I am so pleased to be able to tell you, tumby, that today is a report of success. He has been gently making forays back, trying things on for size and re-familiarizing himself, but he is, indeed, back among us, and ready to be recognized. It makes me smile.
I’m hoping you all draw him out. I’m hoping his world widens again. I hope you follow and say hello. I hope you remember, and welcome him, and it’s fun and music and men’s fashion and sexy and nonsense and humanity.
Please go over and have a look at smell-of-leather. Tell him I sent you. ;)
Hi, I don't know if you are the right person to ask but I found your blog when I was looking for news about secretdaddy. I do not know him personally but I remember he had a very severe cancer a few years ago and then his blog was hacked. Do you have any info if he is ok now? I wish you a great day and take care.
Hello!
Turns out, I am the right person to ask. :)
Secretdaddy is alive and well, and teaching/coaching up a storm. And while he did have a very serious cancer, I am happy to report that each follow-up after his surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation treatments have come back as clear and cancer-free. ::KNOCKS WOOD::
I will definitely report to him that people continue to inquire about him and his whereabouts and wellbeing, and hopefully that will be the element that tips him over into re-establishing his or another tumblr.
Thank you for asking!
A wee holiday.
Hello tumby,
I am allowing myself some time away from this tumblr. I’m not sure how long it’ll be, honestly; it may be a week, it may be a year. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’ve had an essay percolating in the back of my brain for a while, and I can’t decide where to publish it. If I finally do publish it, I’ll copy it here. Meantime, I’ll return when I’ve got the right mix of inspiration and resolve; either one or both is fair lacking at the moment, and that’s not very fair to either you or to me in the follower/followee covenant.
Send questions, if you’d like; I’ll get email notifications of those. Messages won’t ping me and I don’t anticipate checking in.
Be good to each other.
