the song of achilles ripped my heart out of my chest, used it as a punching bag, chopped it up into pieces, slammed it into a blender, froze it, and shattered it into smithereens. perhaps i believe in love again.

most elementary kids who could read far above their classâ average lexile level and lived vicariously through fantasy characters as an escape from bullying are now depressed, lonely, and stuck in a reading slump. and by âmost elementary kidsâ i mean me.
The saddest part of Song of Achilles isn't the fact that Patroclus or Achilles died.
It's the fact that Patroclus had to sit and watch as Achilles lost his mind. He watched helplessly as Achilles went and killed Hector so violently and fulfill the prophecy, which then led to his own death.
Patroclus watched the love of his life slowly kill himself and there was absolutely nothing he could've done to prevent it.
My thoughts on The Song of Achilles 24 hrs after it destroyed my soul as I needed time to fucking process
If you donât want spoilers from the book please donât read!
Achilles: Isnât it funny how everyone is like background characters in other peopleâs stories.
Achilles: Except for me of course because Iâm sexy and important. But like, all of you guys.
me: i am a mature human nothing can break me
*sees the line âwhat has hector ever done to me?â in tsoa knowing how the book ends*
me *voice cracks*: âŠok so maybe i take that back
Achilles: I like your pants.
Patroclus: Thanks, they were 50% off.
Achilles: I'd like them 100% off.
Patroclus: The store can't just sell free stuff.
Achilles: No that's not what I-
Patroclus: That's a terrible way to run a business.
my school offers this reading and writing workshop class where weâre allowed to choose our own books and have discussions and assignments (reflective journaling, summaries, open response questions, etc) based on them!! this is literally my dream class hello(!?$$?!?!,,? definitely gonna take it next year :]
i woke up early this morning to take a peek at the sunrise. i ended up staying in the chilly breeze for longer as i read my book and sipped on some warm tea, cuddled up in soft blankets. best way to recover from a mental breakdown i think.
i have a pile of unread books in front of me. kind of intimidating ngl...... jane austen or one of the brontës?
i only need to seek validation from my english and history teachers. nobody else matters lol
thereâs something so special about writing poetry just as the skies turn into a lighter shade of blue and people start to show up on the sidewalk. itâs all while the moonlightâs glow is still prevalent but slightly muted due to the close arrival of the morning sun. iâd have a warm cup of chamomile tea by my side as i enjoy these honey-sweet mornings. thereâs just quite nothing like it. nothing at all.
happy birthday to miss lily potter!! just wanted to say that youâre so incredibly cool. coolest mf ever. idk why you bothered to get together with that twat james but enough of that..... sometimes i wish you didnât leave so soon so you could have seen remus become the amazing professor he turned out to be, reunite with sirius to see just how much he loved and cared for your son, and watch harry grow up brave in front of your very eyes. heâs a cool dude, may i add. all because of you. what you did that night will always remain commendable. cheers to another year of celebrating you and your kind heart. may your legacy live forever.
Marauder things after reading ATYD that make me want to cry.
Sirius never learnt to moon walk to MJ.
Lily never got to see Lupin become an actual professor after all their study sessions together
Remus and Sirius never went to see Bowie in concert.Â
In harrys third year, remus had to sit in each meal as a professor on his birthday without a very loud rendition from everyone in the great hall of happy birthday
James never learnt how to use a phone booth on his own.Â
Sirius never got to get a walkman, or a portable cd player, or an ipod and get excited because âlook remu! it has the whole album under one dotâ.Â
None of the marauders got to send their children off to hogwarts with dung bombs from zonkoâs in pockets.Â
Sirius never found out regulus died for their cause
Remus never lived to see the downfall of Greyback
Sirius and Remus did not live long enough to learn peter had been killed
any more that people want to make me cry with?
âYesterday, you acted as if you didn't see me. I, today, have eyes that don't notice you. Now suffer in your turn.â
