                maybe, if he’d come back at a different time, when                 another war wasn’t going on. they could go back to                 how they were. they could be normal -- maybe have                 a life that she had only hoped for. her hands rest over                 her stomach for a moment, before she allows a gentle                 sigh to pass her lips

          “you look --- fantastic. i don’t mean to intrude. i wanted           to see -- i didn’t believe you were coming back. i had to           see.”
