alright *cracks knuckles* let's do this 1. Aiden
The unbeaten winner as of today, he is definitely the best at puzzles among the entire group. He has been shown to canonically spend a lot of time with puzzles, enjoy them a bunch, and be able to solve them very quickly. His title as The Puzzle King (made up and bestowed upon him by none other than himself) has been challenged multiple times by brave and fearless knights like Taylor, Ben and Tyler (although, the latter more out of irritation than anything), but alas, he remains undefeated. And he is, frankly, very proud of that fact. 2. Taylor
Taylor has the patience and the intelligence to be good at puzzles, given that she's a part of the mechanics club (which is all, basically, just big puzzles - said by somebody who has no idea about mechanics), but she also has the (friendly) competitive spirit to want to get better at them just so she could beat Aiden at least once! Not to mention that Aiden, probably, yaps a lot to her about them, which is why she might know a couple tricks and also feel excited about solving them!
3. Ben
Ben, frankly, spends a lot of time with Aiden, which means that he has probably listened to Aiden yap about puzzles a lot in his time. Like, a lot a lot. He has not only seen him solve them countless times before, but also probably knows a couple of tips and tricks on how to even solve them easier. Not to mention that he probably tried some out of curiosity, as they were often simply scattered around the house, and was most likely forced to solve some with Aiden 'to bond' or something. He's nowhere near as good as his cousin, because he doesn't really do them often, but he's not terrible either! It takes him time and considerable effort, but he succeeds more often than not.
4. Ashlyn
She never really spent much time with puzzles, and she is known to give up on things way too fast if they start to frustrate her... but, with the right kind of motivation and enough time, she has it in her to get very hyperfocused on solving that one damn puzzle™ (monotropism my beloved) until it's solved. She'll spend a lot of time on it, but she'll get there eventually, which is why she's placed higher than the ones below her:
5. Logan
Logan is... academically smart, for sure, and even generally he's not somebody you could call 'dumb', but puzzles just aren't particularly his thing. He enjoys stuff like chess, sure, and he's even pretty good at it, but apart from that... not really. He'd try a couple of times, for Aiden's sake, but would get discouraged fairly quickly. He does have the patience and mental capacity to be good at puzzles, but he just doesn't have the drive to try long enough.
6. Tyler
The certified "fuck it, this is stupid" of the group, who doesn't like wasting time and certainly gets frustrated with things a little too quick. Especially if said things put his intelligence in question or give Aiden something to tease him about. He might've had it in him to actually solve some of them, but he'll never know because he never put in the effort to actually get there.
