In light of today's results, I would like to let everyone who sees this know that if you need somewhere to rant/vent/talk you can feel free to send it all to me. I can't promise I'll be able to respond in a timely manner, but I will be there as soon as I see the notification and have time to sit down and read it. If you'd prefer to just scream into a void, I have another account (@friendlyneighbornerd) and I will purposefully not be checking any notifications on it.
Remember, this will be Trump's final four years. This is not the end. Yeah, it's going to fucking suck, but once these four years are over we're not going to have to have him as president ever again. We just have to hold out for four years, then will have a solid chance at improvement. If you need something to motivate you to keep going during these four years, try spite and love for others. Try to be so obviously thriving that your existence alone is both a giant middle finger to those happy about today's results and a beacon of hope to those who aren't. You don't have to force a smile or pretend things are fine when they're not. You just need to keep going, keep putting one foot in front of the other. Change begins with the steps we take towards it.
As a lovely woman (I'll add her name/user to this post if I can find her again) said last night while watching the live results update, you can always try getting involved in your local politics as it all begins on a local level anyway.
That all being said, to everyone reading this: I love you all! I love you so much! We're all going to be okay, even if we aren't right now. The Earth is going to keep spinning, the sunsets will keep coming, the moon will still be in the sky each night, the tides will still come in, the animals will keep living, the plants are still growing; this is not over just because things look real shitty. There's always tomorrow, so we just have to do our best to make tomorrow better than today, even if that progress is barely noticeable.
